SECTOR drum app-midi

Hi again
Using in Cubasis 2
I can record SECTOR audio.
I can record midi data played on midi keyboard
How to record midi from the app running drum loops?
I see a signal in Cubasis.
I tried in AUM too...no way...
Appreciated...

I am not clear on what you are trying to do. You say that you can record SECTOR audio.

Are you talking about Kymatica's Sector? If so, audio is what it sends out. So, if you are getting audio from it, you are good to go.

It doesn't send MIDI out. It is an audio mangler.

  • Thanks espiegel123....I’ll just do it by audio...
But It has midi configuration to control sequences and to play individual ‘sectors’.

But It has midi configuration to control sequences and to play individual ‘sectors’.

It accepts MIDI input to control it. It doesn't send MIDI out. Sector is manipulating pre-recorded audio loops. It doesn't send MIDI or play MIDI. Those loops you are hearing are audio.

  • If you want to control Sector by Midi, you have to setup the Midi in the Sector app to receive Midi.
In Sector, in the PRJ menu, open Midi Config. In here set the Receive port. Also in here, tap Midi Input Mapping to see or change how things get triggered (notes and channels).

In Cubasis, you can create an extra Midi track and send the Midi out to Sector to control it. Set the Midi out port to “Sector” (the same as the one Sector is set to receive on by default). Make sure you use the same Channel too. You can check to receive channels in the Sector Midi Input Mapping screen. (Most things default to using Ch 1, but drum apps usually default to using Ch 10, so if you send midi from a drum app, double check that both sender and receiver are set to the same Channel.

  • Thanks....could try that
