  • Update from DJ Tech Tools on the Midi Fighter 3D availability:

“...If it's the 3D you're wanting to get then those arrive later this week. They will start shipping the end of this week or the beginning of next.”

  • Love my MFTwister. Had it for years now, and has been so versatile and used for so many different things. Quality controller.

believe it or not they give you a larger discount if you just ask. I got twisters for 150$ each a few years ago. Wasnt even during a sale. Fantasric bit of kit but you guys better have a decent powered hub in between. If all the leds are lit the ipad simply cannot provide ebough power for it even with the cck + power adaptor.

  • I wish they’d discount the 64 more. I love my 3D and Twister.

    Also, they have great cables.

I haven’t had any power issues. The other day I ran my Twister with my Keystep and MPD218 without a glitch through an unpowered usb hub and CCK. Were you running something with your Twister? I have a regular iPad 6th gen.

You'll only notice the power issue if you turn all the lights on the twister on. Turn all 16 knobs till all the lights light up. Mind you this was with an Air2. Haven't actually tested with the Air3. Never noticed this problem with my desktop or laptops. And with a Cck3+powered hub i could actually run 2 or them with a launchpad pro with no issue. I'll have to revisit and see how stable it is with my Air3 when I get time.

I finally got my Midi Fighter 3D and it is fun with Koala! I assigned the buttons to the pads to record live sound then trigger the pads. Then I assigned FX to the XY tilt. Super fun way to learn the controller. I can see this controller being great for sampled guitar (Geoshred), using XY for pitch bending etc.

    Keystep check
    LaunchKontrol XL check
    MidiFighter Twister ... check :)

Got mine 3 days ago. After having looked at offerings like 60Knobs, and FaderFox this was a perfect compromise in the price performance ratio. Love it. The bonus is all the knobs a buttons!

(I finally have enough knobs to map all of Shoom ;) )

Nice! Congrats! I want to use my Twister and 3D together soon! As I sat at my desk in my office I realized why I needed a 3D... I finger drum all day long!

Who else uses AudioLayer for building kits?

Yeah, the 64 is awesome looking! I agree, their cables are top of the line. Did you buy any additional Chroma cables? I’m thinking of replacing all of my other device cables with Chroma. What do you like about using AudioLayer with 3D? I’m intrigued!

Damn it. Had to bookmark the cables link now that I've looked into them.

In terms of what’s possible, I love AudioLayer. I find the interface a little clunky…the individual not targets are pretty thin. They’re fine with a Pencil. I wish it allowed drag and drop.

I like that my kits are in iCloud.

I meant to buy some USB C cables, but didn’t yet.

I will reinstall AudioLayer and give it go! I like the idea of kits in the cloud. Do you have Koala?

I was able to grab a new Roli Lightpad M for $90 on Facebook, so with my MF Twister and MF 3D I feel like I am obsessed with cool, small, square, light show, black MIDI controllers 😂 ...maybe I’ll add a Novation Launchpad X to the mix 🤔
