88-key midi keyboards-iOS

Hello again,
Need 88-key for iOS with sliders/knobs...
Nektar LX88 very cheap...but some complaints about velocity curves and action noise.
Arturia and Kontakt have models..but iOS?
The latter no sliders....
Any suggestions?
I see many are not iOS and lacking real-time midi controls.
Thanks again.

  • Checkout this new 88 key controller that folds, only $99.

Maybe add a Korg NanoKontrol2, total cost less than $200!

  • I'm just wondering what "full iOS compatible" on the Nektar means. I would have thought any midi keyboard would be iOS compatible?

I don’t think there’s another with features for this price..
    Arturia and Kontakt not iOS.....(?)

    Fantom 6 - $3300 (semi-weighted)
    Fantom 7 - $3600 (semi-weighted)
Fantom 8 - $4000 (twice the weight 60+ lbs weighted keys)

Yeah but that should last 20+ years => $150-$200 per year and you get returns out of using it.

64 Oscillators, 128 LFOs for each scene and more -

Some MIDI controllers require a computer program to adjust their internal configurations. I have the Nektar LX61+ and it is totally configurable using its buttons and keyboard. In each user preset you can change what all the sliders, knobs, and buttons do (send notes, CCs, program change, more). That may be why some other devices are not recommended for iOS.

You can check by downloading the manual for a device. If it begins explaining how to install the Windows software, it could be doubtful. Of course, if you have a compatible computer, and the device doesn't require the host while in use, you could be fine.

  • Thanks...buying it for I pad pro with camera connection kit....seen it being used this way in You Tube....

  • You could take a modular approach and get four 22 key keyboards and put them side by side.

Make sure you use a CCK with power input. The iPad will power the Nektar KB, but having power lets you continue when the battery runs down.
