Any new iPad USB-C hubs you swear by these days? (as of November 2020)
I've put it off long enough and now I really need one so that I can play my guitar into my iPad and monitor the outgoing audio.
Thanks for any high recommendations!

@gkillmaster Greg, do you have an audio interface? Probably stating the obvious, but you can't plug a guitar into a USB-C hub.
Thanks. Yes, I have an Apogee Jam 96k that plugs into my iPad through USB-C.
I can highly recommend the Anker 7 in 1 USB C Adapter with 4K HDMI, Power Delivery, but it has no Video over its USB C slot, and no mini TRS.
But for connecting an audio interface alsongside several USB controllers etc (even a screen with 8 HDMI audio channels), it is really far better than the other optilns with TRS jack. However these fellas are power hungfy: You will definitely need a more powerful PSU
This one works extremely well with my iPad Pro 12.9:

Curious about this new one as well:

Thank you! There are several options that come up when I do a search at Amazon. Can you tell me which one from this link if you have the time please?:

Thanks! I think these are more expensive than I expected but may end up checking them out. Appreciate it.
I've got this one:

And this here is the same, but just with an additional Ethernet port:

Thanks! I just realized if I plug my guitar in the USB-C input, then this adapter doesn't have audio for headphones. I really wish Apple had not removed the headphone jack! I have iPad Pro 12.9 from 2018 by the way.
@vrtx_void I think I'm going to order the one that you got, but was wondering if you know if there is a way I could plug my guitar into the USB-C port and get audio out through another port, like the USB-C data port? Or maybe one of the USB ports using USB headphones?
iOS only allows one audio device, so whatever is doing the ADC for the guitar input is going to need to be your DAC output, as well. More clearly stated, you need some sort of audio interface that'll provide both the 1/4" input for you guitar, as well as a headphone or audio out for you to monitor from.
[Edit] This doesn't apply to special cases using an "input-only" type guitar interface.
Not true actually. You can use an interface like an older Apogee Jam, which has no DAC, along with a separate interface for providing DAC. I’ve done this exact thing before with an old Apogee Mic, an Apple USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter, a USB-C to USB-A adapter (those things are kinda sketchy, but it works and in the case of that little audio dongle I don’t think there’s much risk in using it) and a hub. It worked perfectly. Granted this is kind of a clumsy setup and you will not have any zero-latency monitoring capability, but that’s much less important with the Jam since you probably only want to hear the effected audio anyway. All that said, I’d probably still plunk down a few bucks and just get a single interface to handle all of your needs in one convenient package.
To answer the original question. Hoo-Too hubs have been reliable for me.
Whoa! I'm glad you all were here to witness this momentous occasion, but I was wrong. I just tried using a Rocksmith guitar cable, which is a simple 1/4" to USB cable with a built-in ADC, and used a USB-C hub with a USB-C output to connect a set of iPhone headphones connected to the Apple USB-C to 1/8" adapter. The connection order seemed to matter, but I was able to select the Rocksmith cable as the input in AUM (if I connected it after the headphone adapter) and the stereo out on the headphone adapter was active, even though AUM shows "Rocksmith USB [...]" as the output destination. That setup worked to run through a Nembrini amp AU.
I tried a couple of other combinations, and like @Matthew says, this seems to only work if your input device doesn't have an output.
Very happy with this guy.... apart from price. But works reliably

Thanks. Definitely ordering that. I already paid over £20 for a Belkin USB-C to audio jack cable only to discover that the jack end has such a fat enclosure that it doesn't fit into my headphones.
I just got the Anker 6 in 1 and I don't think it will work for me. If I'm in AUM, and I send audio to AUM from the iConnectMIDI2+, I can't use the headphone jack and if I plug in headphones, I can't use the USB-A Audio from my iConnect. ugh... The search continues...
You won't be able to beat that. iOS only supports one audio interface. The headphone jack in your dock is actually a DAC, or output-only audio interface. When you connect iConnectMIDI2+, it overrides the headphone jack. It has always been this way; it's not new with USB-C.
O! Thanks so much! Good to know. I guess that explains what's going on. I can use my JAM 96K and monitor with my headphones without very much lag. Was happy about that. And even though I can't monitor the iPad using my headphones, the iPad will pass the audio back through my iConnect and into my DAW so I can play it through my speakers.
