harmonica app?
any realistic IOS harmonica apps out there?
Comments
If you find one, just make sure you have one of the waterproof iPhones.
Edit: To be a bit more serious, one of the physical modeling type apps should be able to emulate a harmonica. It would actually be a fun instrument to try and get right with a physical model.
I believe ThumbJam has one - I think it was mediocre if I remember right...
Which type of harmonica? Not sure I can think of one, but chromatic would probably be easier to emulate than diatonic
So, you got me interested in how to model a harmonica, so I've been looking up some info on it. Part of what I'm wondering about is how you would go about controlling all the parameters that go into playing a harmonica. Would you want to do this with a standard MIDI controller or a touch based interface? This is the part that seems kind hard to me.
As I was looking around, I came across this, http://www.lekholminstruments.com and now my mind is kinda blown.
Michael Eskin has some Hohners, but not the harmonica variety

WOW!
It has a diatonic blues style harmonica played through a green bullet mic into an overdriven amp. It has a very particular human sound, kind of the opposite of a clinical GM sound. But it is also limiting in its own way. Don’t forget the Easter eggs in the low low register!
(Get it from the Sound-Download Samples)
Very impressive
Try as I might, I was never able to bend a note on a harmonica...
Try it on the lower notes. It’s easier to bend notes while sucking rather than blowing as well.
Where are these app-priced harps?
I freaked when I saw that Marine Bands are now in the 40-50 dollar range🙀
Why, back in my day...
That’s pretty cheap for a Marine Band. I thought they were a little higher than that last time I looked. (Worth every penny when you buy one though).
