Use app on iPhone as midi controller on iPad?
I got thinking about whether I could use the launchpad app on my iPhone as a midi controller for my iPad. Can’t find any way that this would work but maybe I’m wrong?
Got me thinking anyway - perhaps an app like LK in midi pads mode could work in a similar way?
Edit: just found a similar thread and midimittr. Also found that KB-1 does this outta the box too, albeit just keyboards.
Just need to find an app with the same matrix as launchpad

Xequence can do this too of course -- you might be able to rig the drum pads for your purpose in some way?
Funnily enough I was just looking through my apps and remembered Xequence could probs handle this! I’m used to thinking of Xequence as a sequencer rather than a controller.
What about this ?

Was looking for a knob or controller app, that can midi out to differnt effects au and combine essentials on a single app ( with show plugin in aum )
Nice and simple (and free)! Could do with more pads - one that’s 8x8 like launchpad would be great, then I don’t have to buy a launchpad
Any app that can send midi can do that. If the app doesn't have Bluetooth MIDI connect built-in, then just use it in a host like AUM or Audiobus that does.
Xequence AU Pads and Keys works well this way @SevenSystems ... or didja forget about those guys?
LK with the Controller IAP is pretty good for that. KB-1 lets you knobs, XY pad, pads and keys. Xequence AU Keys lets you add CC controllers with nicely customizable behavior - you can even assign them to the Y-axis on keys.
If you have Mozaic, I made a customizable controller for it: https://patchstorage.com/basic-midi-controls/
I guess Xequence standalone is the same deal really.
I’m basically getting ready for atom 2 ‘roll’ launching
Hi Wim. If Kb-1 has knobs then I probably dont need mozaic and wondering if I need LK in setup but do have kb until I decide. Just kind find knobs/cc on kb.
Thanks
Found it. Will see if I can map across aum effects.
Thanks. Prob best to have a kb per channel combining the channel effects. Can launch via controller.
Have a look at Grid Instrument.
Will do, thanks
Have you look at Velocity Keyboard?
