OT: Arturia Desktop Plug-in Sale Thoughts?

The Arturia Collection and Pigments are both on sale on Plug-in Boutique through Dec 3. Pigments for $99; the Arturia V collection 7 for $249.

What are your thoughts about the quality ... I am particularly interested in Pigments which many raved about when it was first released.

Comments

  • Pigments is probably there best one. All the the other ones are OK if you've never used the real synths or just want see what its like to own a virtual version of them. IMO there are way better synths out there like U-HE diva, zebra2, hive, ace, bazille, and TyrellN6 also GeForce Oddity 2, Minimonsta.

  • Good price for boats for synths. Some gems in there: Buchla, CZ.

I’m interested in Pigments as well. The Arturia site says the free trial period ended on July 3, but somehow I still got it. After registering, you can use it for 20 minutes at a time. When the time is up, all you have to do is restart. No saving or anything, but it’s nice to get a taste in short bursts.

Modulation is super easy to assign and it’s all visualized and color-coded nicely. The sequencer has a lot of randomization features. This video shows it off well:

Looks like they're on sale via the Arturia site as well https://www.arturia.com/black-friday-20. If you plan to use them, don't see how one could shake a stick at the V-Collection for $250. That's an awful lot of well done soft synths for the price. https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/v-collection/details#en

And it looks like there are further price reductions if you already own an Arturia desktop product.

Yep. Just now noticing that. They're offering me Pigments for 50 bucks. I barely use desktop synths but that's awfully tempting.

I bought the V Collection 7 on sale a month ago for $249 thru Avid, I’d say they’re worth it for the full price , and definitely worth it for the sale price, You get 23 instruments and a ton of extra presets, if you do the math it’s like roughly paying $20 for each plugin, it’s like paying IPad prices for desktop plugins. I didn’t buy Pigments yet, it wasn’t on sale but more so because I had just bought Serum which kicks a$$ lol

  • imo, V-Collection 7 standouts are Synclavier V (resynthesis!), CMI V (additive/spectral!), Buchla Music Easel V, Synthi V. The other analog models & classic keyboards are pretty good, definitely use-able with lots of control; some have built-in sequencers based on the originals but with added functions and effects.

It comes with Analog Lab 4, which is like NI's Komplete Kontrol/Kore 'presets player' consolidated plugin, with 8000+ presets, which has several dozen map-able controls. Super quick to search for and find the type/style of sound that your after.

Has .nks presets too, for use in NI's Komplete Kontrol or Maschine's browser. Super handy!

Most of the individual plugins can run standalone too.
