@cokomairena
You got great skills.
thanks man, I hope to be able to finish one song some day
Nice!
I’ve had BM3 forever, but have never used it. Not even once!
Your post has me thinking about giving it a shot!
Make that one more! 👍
Thanks!
BM3 it's a little convoluted and redundant BUT somehow it clicks for me, and it has everything to design sounds, record, arrange and mix so...
Also having a 4 by 4 note arrangement makes me play different melodies and the ROLL controller is nice having velocity and repeat division on one pad make for very quick hihat programming.
I'm using sample crate for the sample selection (you can drag and drop) mixbox for coloring the sound and AUv3s for the sounds. Maybe it clicked for me because it let me take from things/sounds I previously build/learned inside iOS.
KQ DIXIE with a bunch of coloring plugins on mixbox makes for really interesting tones.
I haven't even touched the internal FX beside sidechain compression.
Beatmaker 3 was the first AUV3 host i got but it never really clicked with me. I often get blocked by thinking to much when working with a scene and timeline based sequencer. But YEAH you are right. That trigger pad is dynamite when working with hihats. I could use that one for sure.
Quick jamming in Groovebox
Taking a few Black Friday purchases for a spin in Beatmaker 3
nice!

Very nice rhythms and syncopation (if I'm applying the term correctly). In short, it all sounded very nice and I'm left wanting more.
Posted versions of this in a couple of other threads. Hope it's not too spammy.
Using Riffler for the 'rythm guitar', and Piano Motifs for the lead, and a little bit of Hammerhead shark to get me started with the drums (they're very basic). For the sounds, Geoshred with a modified Total Rock 5ths preset (feedback/release might be a little too much). I run that through Nembrini amps (Bg Extasy for the lead, and Mrh810 for the rythm guitar). StrummerFX steel guitar plays the acoustic arpeggios with no modifications. The bass is run through the Blackice Beta Gamma amp from nembrini as well.
A little FX on the drums too with an 80's (of course) preset from one of Cubasis' FX plugins.
I ended up playing a lot with the outro part. I really like both versions I had, but ended up with this one since it was more in line to how I've heard the bands I like handle outros like these (not thrown at you too abruptly, it seems).
Hope you enjoy!
go for it!
nice progressions!
where are you listening? the low end could use a little more level to my ears and the snare more transient. And the guitars more stereo and eq spacing.
The outro was a very nice touch!
It's very hard and laborious making instruments sound convincing when they are not real (that's why I limit myself to synths that are unapologetically "synthy").
Good work overall, had fun listening!
I ran your song through SPAN to see why I felt the bass was lacking, and the bass is ok, it feels drowned to me because you have the majority of the energy on 3Khz and that's where I usually have the less energy on my own mixes.
So it's nothing wrong with the bass, just that I'm not used to this curve.
Thank you for the encouragement and the useful feedback!
I also like the track and have been listening to it for fun. I do want to make it the best it can be, though!
I was randomly trying different FX on the drums track and left the one that didn’t sound terrible. Maybe turning the volume down on that one and making the bass a little louder might make things better.
I don’t really know much of anything about mixing or mastering so I appreciate the help! I an looking for a basic resource (a ‘for dummies’ level type) so I can at least learn about some fundamentals.
Edit: I have been listening mostly on headphones and occasionally on a small sony speaker
This jam was Inspired by todays Jakob Haq video.
I slaughtered my CPU because of 3 Moogs and very long FX tails. But because of the glitchy nature of the Hammerhead track it kind if fits in so i keeped the take . I might be a lazy douchebag for doing so but F it ;-) i had fun.
It is on purpose that the video is “sideways”. I’m holding my phone horisontal when jamming in AUM. The AUs are to fiddly in vertical mode.
The title of the track refers to a political event in Denmark today
An oldie but a true Goldie from @j_liljedahl and his amazing chest of essential instruments and tools on iOS
Thanks again so much for Sector...I hope it sees some loving auv3 transitions in the near future
Here is a classic gem: just ignore things about noise as digital things recorded digitally have no noise lol.
Great! Thank you for the resource. This is the kind of stuff I need.
Beatmaker 3 jam. Forgot just how good Klevgrand Tines app sounds.
*AUM
nice one!
also you can edit your posts with the cogwheel on the top right corner of the post.
That was one of your best 💪🏼
Some more Sector happy accidents:
I’m posting some SECTOR jams in hopes to inspire people to use it more and maybe inspire the dev to make an auv3 update 😉
That has some interesting textures! is "SECTOR" the only thing used here?
I bought VFX (so expensive, but I don't like IAPSsubscriptions) so far I'm having fun, but I have problems importing videos so I made a music video on VFX and put a screen capture of a little idea I have on Korg Gadget on top with capcut:
I captured a "they love life" sample from an audio book and used a vocoder on Ableton trying to use chords from the major and minor scale. Then imported that to BM3 and Gadget and made two different things with the same idea.
VFX let you apply effects to video and attach its properties to midi or audio
Capcut is a free and very complete video editor
Nice!
What is this “VFX” app you’re talking about here?

Very nice. Tense and eerie. I really need to learn how to exploit Hammerhead. I'm also still kicking myself for not grabbing Ridymgare when it was discounted lol
Sounds great. I wasn't aware of this app.
Very nice visuals and even better sounding music. Always blown away, personally.
Yeah. Just imported one of my work in progress tracks into SECTOR and allowed it to do its magick as they say.
VFX is a great app. Have you checked out his latest app: JamCam? I really like it as well.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/jam-cam-video-fx/id1585575958
woah jam cam seems to be like the better version, way more powerful and in development.
I'll stick to vfx for now, but JamCam imports for free, nice
Thanks @AlexY 😊.
I can really recommend Rymdigare. Sales or not it is worth every penny.
Hammerhead is quite simple really. I just made some very simple patterns xox-style and played around with the mutation and the glitch knobs.
But that is the beauty of Bram Bos’s apps. They are so simple but yet so powerful.
