Recommendations for small travel studio/mixing monitors?
Hey everybody, I know most of you have your favorite studio monitors and your favorite headphones. Can anyone recommend some small studio monitors that are still professional enough to get the job done? Something not too small but that can easily fit in luggage to take on the road. I want to be able to mix and get some great medium volume results and not be forced to only use headphones. Quality and usefulness for monitoring/mixing/mastering more important than volume. Any recs?

Thanks! These are the right travel size and may be good enough for what I need. Too bad the Genelec 8010s are so expensive.
Fwiw, The iLoud's calibration capabilities make them quite capable per every user that has posted about them.
Get a pair of the little 104s , they haven’t got the fake bottom end of the ilouds and they are half the price. Very clean and clear. Great for a small space.
Thanks for the tip. I’m not expecting magical top of the line monitors, but I need something I can travel with and use in hotel rooms etc... do you think these are good enough for some near field monitoring and mixing work at medium volume?
JBL 104 is only $80 for wired pair, $180 for Bluetooth version. The wired sound like a great deal. iloud is on sale this week for $199.
I think the JBLs are good for the price and would do, but even off a two speaker iPad I heard more clarity in the iLoud. just my opinion.
Yes mate they are good. They are not super loud or heavy in the bottom end. But they are very clean when working quietly. They won’t be everyone’s cup of tea because they don’t sound huge.
all the best 🙏🏼
Are there monitor profiles in TB Morphit?
I will always have my 7506s with me on the road, but I can’t handle so much headphone use. So I need small monitors that can easily fit in a carryon. I know that mac/pc have corrective eq software and tips for monitors, not sure if iOS does. Would be nice.
FWIW I decided to buy the iLoud Micros instead of the JBL 104s. There was really only one reason, the iLouds are considerably smaller and weigh much less. So the smallest and lightest option for the win. iLouds also happen to be on sale this week for $199. The JBLs with Bluetooth are almost the same price, though the wired only version at $79 is a bargain. But they are bulkier and 9lbs for the pair whereas the iLouds are under 4lbs. Alternatives were the Genelec 8010s, most likely the best quality in its size class, but $700 for the pair and bulkier/heavier than iLouds. Another option were the newer iLoud MTMs, but they are also $700 for a pair and quite a bit larger. iLoud micros definitely the most travel friendly of the bunch. Thanks everyone for the input!
The iLouds are great if you don't turn them up too loud. I was really impressed. The bass does limit quite early though and change the overall response, just something to be aware of.
Man I’m no good at mixing but i travel a lot haha! I carry the teenage engineering OB-4 cuz it sounds good and is Very portable. But I’m not sure how accurate/flat etc it is
