LK (and others) in AUM - Newbie Question
I’ve recently been spending a lot of time with LK, running through AUM thanks to you fellas here (I’ve owned Lk forever but didn’t know all it could do).
My question is if it matters whether I load LK (or similar midi sequencing apps) in a MIDI slot or a “regular” slot (where I load instruments).
I’ve done it both ways and it seems the same to me. I can’t find any differences so I’m curious if it matters and then if so, what for?
Thanks guys!

In this case, it doesn’t matter, since you want to use the midi output.
Some AUs can output audio as well as midi.
In an audio slot they can output both, in a midi slot they only output the midi.
In an audio slot, you're displaying audio controls that are of no use to you. It's theoretically possible that it might take slightly more overhead as AUM might be allocating and checking on audio buffers even though they're not being used.
But, if visually it makes more sense to you, and you don't notice a performance hit, then it shouldn't matter.
