Elastic drums (terrible sound)

Hello all, I have the latest iPad 2020.

Bought elastic drums, the sound coming from them is absolutly terrible. It's too distorted to make anything out, most of this noise seeming to come from the kick drum. I messed with audio buffer settings but this didn't help.

Anyone else had this problem? It's basically unusable.

Tried out a few other apps and the sounded fine, so I know it's just elastic drums.

Some older apps don’t know how to handle the newer ipads’ forced 48.000 kHz. I think you can use lightning>3.5mm dongles on the 2019 mini and air to fix this issue, but idk if this is the issue you’re suffering from, I don’t have ED. A similar dongle could help you out (USB-C ofc). It does sound like this could be the issue though.

(Or maybe you’re using a bluetooth headset, that also fucks with audio quality unless the app is designed to handle it).

Yes I had this on my iPad Mini 5 with Elastic Drums.

A workaround I found was to open an app like AUM first. I guess this stabilises the sample rate used.

Are you using it standalone or piping through another app?

I do you have the problem with all of the example presets?

I had the same exact problem last year. Only solution: use it in AUM or Audiobus.

This seems to have did the trick, thanks for that!

Ahhh noice! I just ran into this a few months ago. I forget what the setup was now but was trying to record / sync it with / in something else and could not do it. Maybe it was as IAA in BM3 or something. Anyway, nice to know, thanks!
