Thor is still to me one of the best sounding soft synths ever. Why they dropped this classic beast is a mystery, Kong Monopoly is also amazing, but inter app too. I wonder when they will update their stuff?

Maybe we need to take the initiative and gather about 500 forum users who will declare that they will buy Thor and Rebirth. Then Propellerhead will bring that two apps back to Appstore :) Even for a short period of time - "Second life special bundle" :)

let’s say they sell it for $20

    500 * 20 = 10k .. minus 15% appke commission is 8.5k

They need to sell around 17 copies of REASON to get same revenue on desktop

    17.

And they don’t need to deal with all kind of Apple poorly documented API shenigans and app breaking changes with every major iOS update.

They can't sell Rebirth any more due to copyright issues.

I'm not sure we need Thor or Rebirth - there are so many other great alternatives now.

  • I love Thor. Still do and will do.

Yes, it’s an amazing Synth. Some of the sounds one can make with it are incredible.
The modulation routing is like in a modular synth and the sequencer is cool. The sound is thick and warm. I’ve yet heard anything as unique, but Audio Kit’s Synth One is kinda close IMOP.

  • I also still use Thor and like it.

I saw earlier in the thread mention that Rebirth RB-338 wouldn't work on 64-bit ipads and that information is incorrect. It works fine on my M1 Ipad Pro running latest update.

There is no mystery: the apps didn’t generate enough sales for the developer to pay for continued development and support.

iOS music creation apps generate far less revenue than most people here seem to imagine.

My thoughts exactly. I agree that Audio Kit Synth One probably comes closest to Thor’s sound/warm buttery smooth vibe. Frustratingly, neither one is available as an AUV3 which makes connectivity far less convenient.
