End of year best apps lists

I'm starting to think about what my apps of the year would be. Is there an easy way to find out what apps were released this year?😉

  • I think there's a big google doc out there somewhere, listing all of the AUs as they've come out. Some kind of spreadsheet to keep track of stuff, anyway. If I'm not imagining that and somebody can track it down, there might be a way to sort by date.

Drambo was out on April Fool's Day, but I forget what came out in the first few months. Check Doug's channel maybe? It was a different world back then in the before times.

Off the top of my head, Delay3000, Undulator and Saturn 2 are some of my 2020 favourites. Not sure if miRack was this year or last.

    Saturn 2
    Juno

And apeSoft Electric Piano for streamlining things. It’s really good plus it saved me 10 gigs from getting rid of Neo Soul Keys, so it wins the efficiency award.

Not gonna look at purchase history, so off the top of my head, the only things that truly mattered.

  • Overloud THU

Good call. It also makes for excellent Twin Peaksing.

  • Ok, so I scanned through purchase history because I’m a bored lowlife. I missed 2 essential ones.

    FAC Phazer
    Phosphor 3

So that’s my top 5. Not a terribly exciting year, but I feel like this is about the 3rd year in a row now I’ve said that.

    TAL-U-NO-LX
    DrumComputer
    Edit: Bass 808 (how'd I forget?)
    Agonizer
    Skaka
    sEGments
    Looperator
    Koala FX
    SlowMoFX
    Delay3000
    Nembrini Amps

    and of course

    Drambo

  • Best that I’ve used:
    BLEASS Alpha
    BLEASS Chorus
    Bass 808
    Endlesss
    Gauss
    FAC Phazer
    TB Compressor
    TB BitJuggler

Mononoke has a special place in my heart.

I haven’t used Agonizer or BLEASS Saturator yet but I assume they’re badass.

Also Flip has a 90% chance of being on this list for me.

    Nice! That's perfect.

  • Just like your videos...

  • Gauss
    Drum Computer
    Koshiba
    Yukawa
    Drambo
    Velvet Machine
Decent Samples (despite being buggy the sounds are wonderful)
Fundamental (despite it actually being currently unusable on my iPad due to unresolved resizing issues it’s still awesome)
    Koala FX
    Undulator
    WOV
    SKIIID
    Saturn 2
    Classic FX
    TAL-U-NO-LX
    Piano Motifs
    FRMS
    Mononoke
    Continua

Some of these might not be 2020 but I’ve really enjoyed them all the same, and I’ve no doubt I’ve missed a bunch too

    So 100% true !
I purchased NSKS2 which is great with a tremendous control over tones, velocities, FX and layering.
BUT, for less than 200 MB, Electric Vintage has just crystal clear sounding samples and a truly good playability ! Besides Accordion Vintage, I can’t help thinking that Paolo Principi’s mastership at capturing an instrument is incredible. I would truly love to hear what he could do with, mmh let’s say... a Fazioli 😉
Congrats also to Apesoft, of course, for the implementation.

  • Ooh yeah Accordion Vintage is fantastic

  • LE01 Bass 808
    TAL-U-No
    Tape Cassette 2
    Koala FX
    Electric Vintage
    Shaka
    MultiaBand Compressor
    House
    Tape Pro

    .
    .

Also...wow - according to that discchord list around 190 music apps were released in 2020

  • Drum computer
    Piano Motifs

I could screenshot my Puchased list from the AppStore. That should about cover it 🤑🤑🤑

  • Pretty much by definition, Wotja 20 (released 1 January 2020, & fifty updates later gone from the store at midnight on 31 December). But this is definitely one of those years where the Wotja version really has been my app of the year, with the new drone templates, pattern editor, and mix-level scripting all completely transformative. God knows how they're going to top it in 2021.
