  • Cool! Their other app, Hyperspektiv, is great.

  • I’m not sure I’d trust them not to turn it into subscription later after you’ve bought it, like they did for hyperperspectiv...

Wow! That's ugly and should not be allowed.

I really liked that app and was extremely disappointed...no refund or anything for a product that was meant to be perpetual and suddenly transformed into a subscription model. Kind of what Adobe did to all the longterm users by switching to CC

Yes, especially as they didn't warn of the subscription update. Can't really trust them after that.

  • Interesting. I'm trying to figure out if this has any advantage over Party Projector, given that AirPlay can bridge to OBS, right?

  • Is there an app like this on Android?

Same here. They even stripped out functionally that there was in the paid version before they went subscription. You paid for the IAP for HD output. Then, they went subscription and removed HD output... so you had to buy a subscription to get it back. They're awful in the customer service department too. I'll never be fooled by their shenanigans again. I'd steer clear.

Thanks for the history on this, it’s neat for the price as it is now, how long it’s going to last is TBD I guess. In the app there’s place holder text for future features. If this app had screen recording like STAELLA it would be more useful to me as I’m not streaming, just making short clips to feed Video editors.
Hitting the wildcard button and getting a filtered image is a good starting place to make some wild screen candy.

This other app EFEKT is also subscription (unfortunately)... but more interesting effects and the effects can also react to sound: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1367644508?ign-mpt=uo=4

  • After going down a whole rabbit hole, I found out, you can just plug your iphone in and OBS automagically registers it as a video source and will cast whatever is on the screen. So I just use a camera app set without an on-screen display and can use my old iphone as a camera. Doesn't do audio whatnot, but I don't need it to.

  • Best camera app that can do real time filters (for photo and video) that you totally can program yourself is Aremac. The app is old and didn't receive any updates for the last 5 years, but still does the job in the latest version of iOS perfect and is really one of kind. Nice thing is that it's only $0.99. It's really a one of a kind gem!
