  • Wow impressive update and almost a whole new app !!
Might pick this up just for the flixible drum options... I hope it goes on sale !

  • It will go on sale at initial release.

  • Awesome! Looking forward to it!

  • I had to make an account here to say that I'm really excited for this update! Expanded MIDI support and the iPad version will probably make this one of my most-used apps. Can't wait to start making some tracks with it :)

Boom! Definitely look forward to this not just for the great features, but as a way to learn about music composition. The dev even had the decency to tell me to wait and buy it on sale after I told him I intended on buying it!

One thing I'm not clear on - is it almost like a DAW? I know you can program guitars, drums, etc. using the internal instruments, and then export tab music. But is there also recording/editing/export features?

  • @october you just made my morning :) ... or is it night... 3am here I should really go to sleep.

@StormJH1 Its a sequencer, but there is no recording wav/sound files to tracks. So recording is basically programming in the tab live as the tracks playing (whilst it repeats backing tracks that you specify) and it transposes it to tab. You can export to wav, it basically just renders the tab as you would here it if you played it back normally. Similar to Gadget I guess, all sequencer, not recording sound files unless its exporting/audiocopy/sent to an external DAW.

I'll ask again as this wasn't answered: Do I have to buy a new version of the app or will the current app be updated?

  • edited April 2014

@Telengard - I believe he answered in the other thread that it is a universal app:

    JamMaestroJamMaestro April 4 QuoteFlag+1 -1
@StormJH1 Yeah, hopefully will submit sometime next week. It will be a universal app by the way, so no need to look at both :)

My understanding was that the current app was being update, like how AudioBus was. In my case, I haven't owned it before, so it doesn't matter.

@JamMaestro - Okay, thanks. I didn't have any expectation that it was a full-feature DAW, but it will be nice to get some of the drum sounds, etc. out into recording apps.

@Telengard it's just an update making it a universal app. So it's the same app, now optimised for iPad.

@stormjh1 sure. Audio copy works well for that too.

  • Awesome, I wasn't sure if it was a NEW universal app as some devs do. A Jam Maestro 2 for instance (BeatMaker -> BeatMaker 2). Just needed clarification.

    Fantastic news, can't wait!!!!

  • Dare I ask - If all IAPs are going to be unlocked, how high will the price be for the app?

  • @b0bert0 haven't totally decided yet, but somewhere around double the current price mark. If you're worried about that it will be on sale for around the $3 mark when the update comes out.
