Launchpad Pro MK3 & iOS
Finally bit the bullet and ordered a LPP so I’m wondering those of you who use it with your iPad what are your favorite/most compatible apps, videos/tutorials (I’ve watched a bunch on YouTube), any workflow tips, or any “first things to setup or do” with a LPP and an iPad.
Yeah I know it’s a broad unspecific question, but that’s all I’m looking for is noob tips and tricks or “must try” workflow/routing/setup ideas. I have pretty much every iOS music app known to man, much to my wallet’s dismay over the years—LOL.
So anyway, thanks in advance to any who can toss me a bone or two!

My favourite aspect of the LPP3 are the custom layouts that you can fill up with MIDI widgets via the Novation Components website.
If you're into MIDI scripting with Streambyter or Mozaic, then pairing those with your layouts is aces. Awesome control.
Lots of cool stuff there too if you're an Ableton user obviously, but the 4 track sequencer works great with iOS too. Set up 4 synths in AUM and drive them from LP.
There's some great fun to be had with the Probability and Mutate too. i.e Set up a chord on step one with a fairly medium high % of both, and that chord will be different on every loop. Some notes played or not, some notes slightly different. Very cool!
Check out Ricky Tinez on YouTube, he has some great LPP stuff as well . You've probably already caught him on the Official Novation YouTube channel by now.
Have fun!
Ricky describes that chord trick here... at about the 40 second mark...
Small suggestion – – go to the settings and change the default layout to a major scale rather than a minor scale.
Thanks for all the input already, I am extremely excited to get it. I’ve seen some people talking about using it in conjunction with a midi fighter twister for the control knobs that the LPP3 is missing, do they play well together on the iPad via a USB hub? I assume that’s how to hook it up since the MFT is usb out only.
It would be really cool if they’re compatible and both easily run through a hub.
LP can be powered straight from USB-C iPad. Fun for portability
