I didn't see any posts about this... A great app for composing! Deeper than it appears when you first start working w/ it. Works w AudioBus and IAA. Still crashing sometimes and seems unstable in IAA w/ my older iPad...

Comments

  • Yes but then I would have to learn to read sheet music.........

  • Well, there's that... :-)

  • It exports midi, so no need for reading sheet music, which is not a bad thing to know.

  • Great point, @mgmg4871. It's funny, I've been reading/writing sheet music for over 30 years now, but I find rely on it less and less when I compose because of all the great tools available via the iPad, sequencers, etc...

Having said that, I'm glad I have the ability to read music. Of course, re: building reading chops, there's probably an app for that.

But, again, you could use all of the tools in iSongWriter, even the "free type" mode for melodies and export the final output as midi, working the entire time by ear. One of the great features of the app is that it creates melodies by contour shapes instead of specific pitches. You can "override" this by using the free type" mode to enter specific pitches...

Sometimes I am ashamed to my friends..
    Maybe this app can help
EDIT- I am ashamed for this post I made

  • Yeah, it seems like in the business setting, it's always a good idea to get a quick proof reading from a native speaker when writing in that language. (Even if the proofreader delivers the paper, works at the corner deli, etc... Can be a quick and cheap way to improve PR materials...) :-)

Interested to hear your feedback @cheesesteak. The built in sounds aren't so great, but the app comes alive w/ the IAA.

I was having some trouble running multiple IAA instruments on my iPad 2 earlier. Will try again...
