I wish they would sell it as a Universal app... I know the UI would be hard to use on some phones but I just want to get access to a preset for my portable guitar sessions. Oh well...
TH-U works along with a lot of great FX choices in AUM on my iPhone 5S. But the is an excellent clean guitar processor with a lot of great FX options.

There’s no reason it couldn’t be universal, maybe there are plans for it to be, who knows? It would certainly open up even more sales for them. Syntronik is universal and does the same module type thing (37 fx and 5 per), Amplitube is universal. So here’s hoping...

Ok thanks everyone. I bought the damn thing. Now I'm overwhelmed with choices again. Time to buckle down and figure out how to get my money's worth. I must say the sound coming from it is quite good though honestly not yet better than my Nembrini Sound Master and Thafknar-enabled Ownhammer IRs just yet. But I think paired up together this is hopefully going to create some excellent tone modeling and maybe tame down my overly hot sounding Ibanez RG570 a bit more to my current taste. Then again, for what I've spent on apps chasing that tone I probably could have just bought a different guitar.

Yeah, use the zip file not the folder, then you can do it in one go!

    Steps:
    1. Download the zip file from IK Multimedia in the "My Products" area after creating an account and registering your MixBox CS purchase.
    2. The zip file will land in "Downloads" on your iPad.
    3. Use the Files app and go to the Downloads folder.
    4. Touch and hold the "Signature Presets - John Potoker".
    5. In the pop up menu select "Share".
    6. MixBox should appear as an app you can pass this zip file to.
    7. Touch "MixBox" and it will open and have the new presets in a "Signature" folder.

Personally, I think experimenting with the various Modules against a looping audio input
can pay big dividends as you find and investigate your favorite FX modules and make some
    FX chains.

I like this order on most acoustic stuff.

EQ to capture a specific sound spectrum
Dynamics to get some tube-based compression (similar to Magic Death Eye for extra colors)
    Optional Saturation
    Reverb/Delay
back to Dynamics for a Limiter

For a synth there's a ton of extra stuff to crush, slice, filter, phase, flange and sauté.

+1 for these written out instructions. I'm usually pretty smart with this stuff but I was missing the "press to hold" in step 4 and couldn't get it to share it to MixBox. Solved!

Really?? It should cost the same as iPad version and free for those who already bought it on one device, and vice versa.

I agree. Could be. This comment was an attempt at a humorous play off IKs opportunistic pricing strategy. Little white lie. They saw how popular the app was and hiked the reg price up so I imagined an unapologetic Capitalistic move which would have them charging for the iPhone version after the iPad buzz dies and it goes to reg price. Many bargainers would probably buy the newly launched iPhone version at the discount price while they wait for the iPad version to go back on sale so they could get a 2 for the price of one “deal”.

At any rate, dumb comment I meant to delete. My apologies to the OP for the distraction. Just for clarity, I do not have any knowledge of an iPhone version forthcoming.

lol I figured, still wanted to speculate though...

  • Just finishing a first track using MixBox. I never would have bought it at $80... but not because it’s not perhaps worth that... just too much for me for an FX bundle. That being said, I would miss out on a great learning experience and a really fun sonic laboratory.

  • Win a code! See details pinned below my YouTube video. MixBox is too deep to do a tutorial in one video, so here I run through a lot of presets with a lot of different instruments and vocals to give you a good idea what the app is or isn’t capable of.

In case anyone is curious, checking out the thread but hasn’t bought it yet.

Not really what we’re about here, mate. If you have something constructive to say, do; if not, don’t. We’re not here to try to tear others down.

Fair point and noted. Apologies @Jamie_Mallender (it's just a pet peeve of mine) it's nothing personal.

Apology accepted. The hockey stick is an 8 string octave bass, one of a kind made for me free of charge by Trevor Wilkinson. I meant to play it in the video and totally forgot. 😂 It has been brought to my attention that my thumbnails do my videos no favours. I’m working on that.
