Send a Program Change message to hardware. (AUM Quantiloop)

I am trying to send a MIDI PC message round trip from my Boss GT-1000 through AUM to do a one button PC on the GT. I have semi-successfully done so by using AUM routing but the problem is it messes up the MIDI clock that is being sent by Quantiloop to the Boss unit.

I have been performing operation with MIDI cables routed between a Boss RC10R looper pedal and the GT-!000. But now I have replaced the RC10R with an audio interface and an iPad. (Quantiloops is damn good) I have one preset on the GT-1000 that uses built in FX for live endings to my looper creations. Therefore I need to be able to change to this GT preset immediately from whatever preset I am currently using on the GT-1000.

If there is a MIDI utility that I could use inside AUM that allows me to press an onscreen button to send the PC? This might be a quick solution.
Either that or any suggestions about how to stop the MIDI clock from messing up?
Thanks for your comments.

    1. The first that comes to my mind is Mozaic with a custom very simple script, I can write it for you if you decide go this way.
    2. I've searched through my MIDI AUs and "Send MIDI" from ApeMatrix looks like could do the job, just a bit confusing to me.
    3. mfxConvert can convert note messages to PC, you'd just need to e.g. trigger a specific note on e.g. built-in AUM keyboard for a specific PC.

Thanks a bunch for the advice and the script writing offer. It seems like the easiest (and cheapest) route for now would be to go with mfxconvert. I will give this a try this evening and set up a button on my korg kontrol. Greatly appreciated skrat!

  • Damn....looks great but I already paid for the mfx plugin. It works great. Doing some looping right now.

No worries, that Program change app is not AU which would mean you'd have to always open it besides AUM. Also, mfxConvert can be handy for other use cases.

  • I have already got my 4 bucks worth. LOL
