Audio interface with unlinked headphone/master output
I've recently purchased a Zoom U-22 only to find out that the master out and headphone out are linked. Looking for suggestions on an interface that has them on separate channels so I can use the headphone for cueing.
If there's anything out there with this and the same input setup as the U-22 (1 stereo input 1 dual mic/line input) that would be amazing.

The bleeding obvious would be a Zoom U-44?
Well there's a lot of interfaces with a separately routable headphone output, the main question is, what are your requirements besides 1 stereo input and 1 dual mic/line input, as this is also pretty standard. The main difference from U-22 is that most of them are much bulkier and not usable on batteries, so you very likely need camera connection kit for USB with power and always be connected to power when using it. If you don't mind, there is a lot of options.
I do like the small form factor of the u-22 but power is not an issue as I'm powering it via camera connection kit anyway. I've built myself a nice portable case/rig that powers my Deluge, Ipad, Interface and Launch Control XL via a power bank so space is pretty key. Though the main thing I'm looking for are those input/output options.
I got the U-22 because it had a stereo line input, Dual mic/line was just a bonus. Other interfaces I have looked at technically have stereo in, but its more just two mono channels you could hard pan left/right and you would have to physically adjust each inputs gain to be the exact same. RCA inputs would be perfect
I was eyeing up those lil Behringer UCA 202's as RCA in would be mint but I'm guessing the headphone output is connected to the main out.
@MadGav Def an idea, its a bit of a price jump due to features I don't exactly need though.
Motu interfaces have a mixer software and presets for different setups that can be loaded without an attached computer
Maybe you'd be better with some audio interface for DJing? I actually wanted to sell my Korg Kaoss DJ controller when I bought Traktor S2, but then I realised it's awesome audio interface for iPad - it has headphone cue (even with knob to mix between master/headphones), it has 2x2 RCA inputs, mic input, not to mention it has Kaoss pad/Kaossilator effects and instruments in it + faders + crossfader + other MIDI mappable buttons if I'd like to go crazy with my setup. And it's still compact size. So I decided to keep it, although it's not a typical audio interface, but still very portable and flexible.
That’s more along the lines of what I’m looking for with ins and outs. Being a bit pedantic ahah but because of the decks it’s probably a bit too large to go with a portable rig
Shouts out for the tips people. Ended up grabbing the Zoom U-24. Pretty weird that the U-22 technically has more inputs but what can you do.

Let me ask you for clarification - Did you give up a stereo input or 2nd input on U-24 IS stereo?
Rme
I will look more closely for this information
Scarlet focusrite with 4 or more outs also can do it.
The U—24 has two mono inputs each with its own gain control.
Thank you, although it's not a very positive finding for me.
Fwiw, this is the typical set up for quality interfaces. A stereo input with single gain control is not as common.
Yes, I understand now. I was mislead due to TRS jack:
TRS jacks are common on pro gear for balanced (mono) signals. If you read the text on the manual page that is explained.
Seems like the right solution. NI used to make a DJ specific audio interface that addressed your particular use case (Traktor Audio 2), but they don't sell it any more.
I see only "Instruments can be connected to INPUTS 1/2 using TRS or mono instrument cables". And TRS to me was synonymous with stereo jack. Thanks to you I know I was wrong.
