OB-Xd now has presets?

A new update just landed on my iPad. OB-Xd now has preset management and a whole bunch of presets. That was a nice surprise.

  • yes, and they are brilliant classics. Not like new which is good. The other chip synth fm thing also has hundreds of presets that are old school. IT has a goofy drum thing too. I am all for these now just on the 80s jamming front. I got that combo pack and his apps are good now I thought there wa a long process for the apps>, I foget.

  • One of my favorite synths. For years I owned a Matrix 6R and I love having this OB app on iOS and Mac.

    edit : some works, some doesn’t 😕

I cannot see anything in regards to iOS there.

    App Store link?

There are links to download presets. These presets can now be loaded into OB-Xd.

  • Wow! Plethora of presets.. awesome update.. 👍
@BCKeys Thanks for the link to even more presets..

  • This just keeps solidifying it’s spot amongst my top five iOS synths

  • Can i save my own patches?

  • What an update! Import/export for desktop presets.

  • 1400 new presets

Ok so I noticed there’s no option to create a new bank in the app (right?) so I created an empty .fxb file that I’m sharing here

    https://we.tl/t-rvGff5o1yJ

    Notes :

    • Download it and go in files.app, paste it in On my iPad/OB-xD/Banks folder.
    • You can rename it as you like « My fckn good Presets.fxb » 😁 (still on files.app)
    • It contains two of my own presets (very basic ones), first save one of your presets before deleting my 2 presets. The reason is I noticed that we cannot saved any preset in an empty bank..

Extra note : Presets saved in AUM can be saved into this bank, you just need to select your bank, then select your AUM patch, then « saved preset » and give it a name.

    Awesome. Thanks for this.

  • It works like a charm. Thanks for the import tips as well.

There are so many public banks just like TAL UNO LX. Those two together is VA heaven. Super excited about this update.

    App Store link?

No but it’s .fxb and .fxp files, like I said some doesn’t work and I totally ignore why :/
I’ll contact the dev to ask if there’s a trick to make them work

    maybe it's a 32 bit 64 bit thing?

Edit Well it didn’t take long for me to put my foot in my mouth and find out it’s definitely possible to arrange the folders alphabetically, it was just however I had accessed the folder this time that was giving me grief. Also, after the update, I have an OB-xD folder, soooo.... maybe just ignore the post below where I’m feigning helplessness for a bit, think I maybe got it! ***

Confirming we do this on iPad and not Mac - correct? And then can we do the same thing with the links of all the presets that were included above your post or do we have to be on desktop or mac to load those up?

Thanks so much for what appear to be super clear directions! Guys like me will still not figure it out but I almost nailed it first try after reading that whole webpage and your instructions (but I don’t think I have an OB-xD folder in On my ipad (which is why I’m wondering if this has to be done on the Mac and placed in that folder that ipad can then view?)

Also, would it kill Apple to arrange the folders alphabetically under “on my ipad” (waiting for the embarrassment of finding out this is not apple but user error!)

You can set the sort order for folders and files in the Files app. Pull down on the display area to expose the sort options at the top of the window.

    Inquiry answered. Thanks.

  • Great to have presets, but still doesn’t receive program changes like the desktop version do, right? Program changes can be done via Aum but at least for me is taking a couple of seconds to change preset....Is that the case for you guys too?

  • Has anyone been able to program/obtain sounds that were used by Rush. Thinking specifically the camera eye and subdivisions, but there are many more that were played on the Ob-x. Thanks in advance!

  • Having a problem scrolling through the presets; the down arrow scrolls quickly to the end of the presets and some of the ones in the middle aren't readable? Anybody?

I'd be interested also if anyone has "Rush" styled presets.

  • People keep letting these zombies out of the crypt.

"But it's an OB-Xd Zombie, so..."

It's also a Zombie with a questionable question mark !?! A zombie you answer without realizing it's fucking dead and just want's to eat live forum brains.
