TC-11 vs iVCS3
Big disclaimer: I am haven't taken the time to learn how to build patches for any synth. I need a long plane trip or something to finally force me to learn modular synth.
But FWIW, I really enjoy using the TC-11 much more than the iVCS3. You hear a lot more about the latter, but the TC-11 keeps getting more cool presets. And the thing is immediately usable and fun. I also figured out how to set the sequencer to do desired scales, so it can be musical in the usual harmonic sense.
Honestly, after the initial joy of playing the Who and Pink Floyd patches, the iVCS3 feels like an untamed, demanding beast.
So.... Am I the only one around here loving the TC-11 more than the iVCS3?
Thanks,
- Joe

Uh yeah I'd take tc11 any day.. I might be the only one who isn't a huge ivcs3 fan.. I just enjoy playing tc11 much more..
I agree with most of your opinions, but still think it's an apples vs. oranges comparison.
They could hardly be more different- one designed for the iPad with a unique way of controlling it, one an almost exact reproduction of a 40 year old classic. They are both semi-modular, but other than that not really comparable.
yeah, completely different synths.
How do you make the scales on TC-11, @joegrant413? Would love to know how to do that! The sequencer is pretty daunting.
There's a tutorial for that on discchord http://discchord.com/blog/2012/7/19/tc-11-tutorial-sequencing-notes-and-scales.html
All fair points. With both synths purchases I was taking a chance.

Where are you finding new presets for the TC-11?
Check this forum http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=350302
I was actually just referring to the new presets that have been coming over the last couple of releases.
Got both and still plan to use both. I need to learn how to disable "gestures" though because some things I do on TC-11 accidentally send it away or have other undesired effects.
It's on the first page of Settings, can't miss it....
You can set Konkreet Performer to control iVCS3 for have all two the experience together :-)
Thanks Zymos!
