Swam TRUMPET jazz demo

Here’s a demo of the the expression, vibrato, and mutes in the swam trumpet in a jazz setting.

Totally excited for the release of swam brass. So far, no issues. Really impressive stuff. Recorded in AUM using soft drummer, drambo, ravenscroft piano, and iFretless bass. Absolutely can’t wait for the strings next year.

Very good indeed. What controller? A new era for iOS begins.

Thank you! Using a Keystep 37. Yes this feels like a great compromise for iOS. Huge sound libraries are a no-go, but physical modeling can sound just as good.

Really good! Certainly a hell of a lot better than I could do. If you would like some constructive criticism, I think the only thing taking away a little from the realism is that the vibrato is a little too much. That's the only giveaway to me that this doesn't sound like a real trumpeter. Apart from that, the expression is very convincing. Lovely tone and playing!

Yes, I would say : don’t start your full vibrato as soon as the note is played. You should start your notes flat then introduce progressively your vibrato.
Then, as a singer, a trumpeter needs to breath. You have some long lines without any break, which sounds barely possible to do on a real trumpet.
Apart from this, very nice demo !

  • Yeah, just as Miles Davis said to John Coltrane: just take that damn horn off your lips!

    BTW, really nice demo...
