Apogee Mic+ has latency free monitoring. I’m just bugged that it doesn’t play nice with Garageband on USB C iPads (starting a recording will turn down the Mic+ gain all the way). There are workarounds and it seems to work fine in every other app as well as any device that uses lightning though, so it’s not like it’s totally unusable. It just bugs me that they don’t seem to have acknowledged the problem or give any hope for a fix. I’ve emailed them several times and nothing came of it. For that reason it’s hard for me to recommend their stuff. That said, I already have it and it is a nice little convenient mic and I plan to use it a lot more in the future.
This is the problem with big companies sometimes - very slow to fix stuff! @Matthew
@Matthew : Wuuut? I have an older iPad w lightening port but that’s distressing to know.
If you don’t want to spend a lot, this one is surprisingly good for the price ($40-50):

I do my hobby stuff in an untreated and acoustically terrible basement but I have always been happy with my Shure SM-58. Of course if you go that route you will also need an XLR to USB option with phantom power, like a Scarlett, MXL MicMate, or whatever price range you want to go. But at least you’ll always have your SM58, they never die and can be used for so many purposes.

Yeah, I decided I may as well just use the xlr mic I already have and my audio interface. It means I have to sit at my desk but once you factor in any kind of mic, whether USB or otherwise, sitting on the sofa is never going to be the ideal arrangement regardless. New video recorded using new setup coming later today, constructive criticism about the mic etc quality is welcome.
