FabFilter Pro - L delay issues on vocal ?
Hi everyone, so I’ve just got the fabfilter bundle.
I placed the Pro-L on a vocal group track in Cubasis 3 , during playback I can hear a doubling effect (some tracks are delayed) making it messy.
Is that normal ? Please have a look at the video for better understanding.thanks in advance for replying.💪🏽

@Paa89 This is where we need PDC (Plug-In Delay Compensation) in Cubasis like NOW.
It's even more apparent if you use Pro-L on a track and do a 'freeze' or 'mix down' between locators.
The loops are simply 'not on the grid' since the is no compensation for the delay caused by the plug-ins.
(This affects most compressors, limiters and maximizers even the built-in Cubasis & Waves Stuff).
This is a good example of where PDC is needed!
Cheers!

Oh dam. Will get in touch with the Cubasis team at steinberg to see if there is a work around.
Thanks for the reply @Samu
Maybe @LFS could answer ☝🏻
Yes, but the issue is in cubasis 3 .... it should be fixed. Not good to have to take your project from daw to another just to apply fx , isn’t it ?
Proper PDC is a tricky thing... in Pro Tools it was „managed“ for more than a decade, but still didn‘t work in all and every environment
The most reliable cure is to measure the delay once (according to your personal setup) and drag the respective region backwards for the exact number of samples.
Shorten the beginning if it starts at zero to roughly get the required range of time and after positioning extend it again to zero (if equal track length matters).
As long as the Plug-Ins and Instruments time-stamp their audio & midi events it should not be that difficult to check and adjust for the offsets...
Did you try to use another « style »?
