Reslice vs AudioLayer
With both of them on sale, which is your fave and why?
Personally, I'm interested in quickly sampling various drum kits from synths like iM1, iWavestation, Elastic Drums, and others. Would either of these make it simple to almost automatic to create new sample kits?
Comments
Reslice is better for what you're looking for, but actually EG Segments would be even better. Sampling and multi-out, easy to create kits from samples.
AudioLayer is better for creating instruments like old school synth samplers.
Hmmm.
The amazing thing is it's exactly the same $9.99 price. 🤗
Do you want velocity layers, round Robin, random, zones, etc? AudioLayer is way more powerful than the others mentioned. But your needs might not require the power and flexibility.
I don't believe the Korg kits have velocity layers, so that wouldn't be an issue.
I guess what I'm hoping for is a sampler that would just let me play each kit sample and have them automatically trimmed and merged into a complete drum kit...
SynthJacker plus Audio Layer might work.
Synthjacker not-needed. AudioLayer has an auto-sampling engine that does what Synthjacker does.
The thing about Reslice that differentiates it, is its lovely arpeggiator which is extremely fun for repurposing grooves.
Yeah, @espiegel123, I was watching some videos on AudioLayer this morning. Very cool!
As usual, I'll probably end-up just getting both of them! 😅
Yup @SNystrom, get both
Can I load a bunch of percussion samples into Audiolayer, and by hitting a single note (say, C3) trigger a random sample each time?
Yes, if you map them to different velocities, and trigger with the same note with different velocity. Just turn off Tracking into AudioLayer.
Thanks @auxmux , that’s exactly what I’m looking for
Awesome, enjoy. This is a favorite feature of mine too, before apps like EG Pulse came out, AudioLayer was my favorite drum sampler.
