Official Apps that are dead and no longer supported.

Hi, everyone. I created this list of apps to stay away from due to lack of support or any dev progress. Hopefully this will save people for wasting money on dead apps or apps that do not provide any crucial updates. My goal here is to weed out less than satisfactory ios music apps. All of them.

Maybe with some luck we can get these companies to hold up what they are selling.

Comments

  • I will start the list with the A's

AudioKit everything except the new drum machine.

    Audio Damage all of them.

  • Dude. Really???

  • Seems like high hopes for an Audiobus thread. Maybe start a bit simpler, like if you can make a difference for just one person it will be worth it?

  • I use Audio Damage apps every day and am completely satisfied with them.

  • I still find the Audio Damage apps to be really good. I hereby remove them from the list.

  • Audio Damage apps work just fine.

Que? Audio Damage apps have been updated in the last few months.

That's good. Are you able to save the default program in any of there synths?
I know the option is there, but it does not seem to work for me.

  • Your poll is ridiculous. This is not much better

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Why app updates can make or break the user experience

A lot of beginning developers overlook the update feature of their app.

The thinking is that once the app is released, it’ll be finished forever. But nothing could be further from the truth.

The reality is that apps must be updated on a regular basis to keep them fresh and functioning. Just like you wouldn’t release an app with a known bug, updates keep your app secure and allow you to remove issues that come to your attention after your first release.

  • Dude. I fear that you are on the precipice of a spectacular meltdown, @X3LA
Go for a walk or something. You need to shake off this “I want to talk to your manager immediately” energy.

I’m not sure I understand. I can call up the Default preset in Continua and Quanta and resave it, with the same or a different name.

  • AudioKit’s apps aren’t dead. AudioTune was updated 2 weeks ago. Bass 808, Retro Piano, and Mark I were updated about a month ago and work fine.

You know you’re not supposed to drink the bong water, yeah?

😄 I wish I could have an excuse like that - but for me it’s just nature’s way

 This reminds me when one of my brothers was living in another city. Went to visit and wondered about the weird stain and smell in his couch.

Yep... it was bong water

  • Oh so what you meant was that one of their apps currently has an issue, not all-but-one as you said. Glad we’re on the same page.

Oh that truly is the worst. Might as well torch the couch at that point.

  • Quick, someone go to reddit and ask what in particular makes bong-water so heinous. Report back here.

This is what you are doing. Remove the word Behringer and insert that app your trying to defend.

  • B. Bong Water App CS. My bong water hasn’t been updated in months. The dev (me) is lazy and only responds with canned communications about UFO’s and ruminations about the future importance of Roshambo in the cat community and the inherent sadness of felines’ inability to make a proper scissors form with their paws.

Wait, what happened?! Oh yes, broken appetizers. I hate it when that happens.

Concentrated wet resin from a burning plant + carbon from the smoke. It’s like the aftermath of a brush fire.

That app is garbage. Subscription based, all samples are IAPs, and in a lot of places, you have to pirate the app just to use it.

  • I always check to see when an app was updated last before purchasing. Having said that, I mean I completely understand how many apps just languish. Most apps are made and supported by a one-person shop and sometimes life just gets in the way or perhaps just not enough people are buying it.

  • Or the dev dies from covid-19...

I know the option is there, but it does not seem to work for me.

It doesn't even matter. What matters is your ability to remain calm and view things from a reasonable point of context. I'm not saying you are not calm but in my personal opinion it seems this is a bigger issue for you than it should or would be if you had some real problems to deal with. I'm also not saying you don't have real world problems, and for all I know that could be the trigger here, but if you do try thinking about how important this is in the context of those issues. I have a good life, but still worry about my job, children, financial issues, sick relatives, the world around me, the world on a broader scale, etc etc, and software falls somewhere between a cold burger and the cat needing to go to the vet.

  • @X3LA I appreciate your stated goal of helping other users here - that’s definitely what we’re about - but what we’re not about is shaming developers and pouring on negativity. I’m going to close this thread and your other one; please find a different tone here.
