I just got wind of this bug. How has this bug affect us little people? Safe to create a sound cloud account now?

    Well, it's the end of the world as we know it, but I feel fine. There will always be scares, threats and beat-ups reported. What do you perceive the threat to be to you?

    Personally, I can see no threat as long as you follow good online practices re. passwords etc.

    From what I gather yes you should be ok. It's an open ssl security vulnerability, SC wants you to change your password if you already had one, so they have patched the hole. Open ssl is widely used across the net, so if you've bought anything, your account details are POTENTIALLY exposed to prying eyes. Due to the nature of ssl, the breaches are untraceable...from what I understand.

    You should change your online passwords once the respective sites give you the all clear. But not before

    The SC privacy policy has changed recently btw.

    I know there's always bug and viruses. In fact I was just contact by the "IRS" in Novato, ca. Plus living in vegas has taught me to not trust many people.

    My point being is that i haven't created a sound cloud account and I'm apprehensive doing so now. I feel like my ipad has cooties just from listening to the battle one song haha

    Is it also coincidence that BM2 needed to do "database maintenance" after visiting their site??

    Sound cloud pwd should be the least of your concern! Think about the various bank sites, Ecom giants , dept store sites ...half the people in the us were filing taxes this weekend !! Hope all those servers are patched !...changeing the pwd doesn't really help anything for this bug since it's really the server side infra issue

    @thinds, I'm normally 100% with you but this isn't a 'use good passwords' normal internet-omg-lookout-haX0rs sort of thing at all. It's pretty serious and good password practices have nothing to do with it.

    Thank for the link. According to that site most of the stuff I use wasn't affected from this.
