I’ve been holding out for the new SWAM app (and I already bought all the Roli SWAM packs ages ago) so I was going to skip the GeoSWAMs...but 2.99 is too good to pass up! I wonder if this pack wasn’t selling as well or something?
I do feel for the early adopters (that’s usually me too). In this case it successfully got me to buy some thing I otherwise wouldn’t have.
I guess I’ve had twenty notes worth of fun in the few weeks I’ve had the full pack that I would have missed by waiting for a sale - I actually thought these would rarely, if ever, be reduced at all, never mind so drastically...
FWIW, their IAP wording makes it sound like they're putting the Sax SWAM app on sale as a way to get people to try the SWAM instruments, hoping they'll eventually buy more. None of the others are on sale.
The bundle is on sale. The hope may be that someone will pick up the Sax at this amazing price and want to get the whole bundle.
Oh, yes, you're right. The bundle is on sale but, I think, only 20% off. SWAM Sax on its own is on sale for 80% off, inducing people to give SWAM instruments a try. Seems like a decent marketing approach to me, I plan to upgrade from Geoshred Play to Geoshred Pro and try SWAM Sax.

Wait, GeoSHRED play becomes the full geoSHRED, as soon as you buy the unlock. There's no reason to own both apps. And before you buy the unlock, you can't buy the swams anyway, right?

One way to think of it is this--people who bought one instrument may not have wanted to buy the 'collection' as they would get no benefit from having already bought one. This way, if someone starts with this Sax, they can then buy the rest of the instruments separately in their own time and even if they buy them all they will have spent just a few bucks more than if they had plumped for the collection right from the get go. I'll be surprised if, over time, they release all the instruments at such discounted prices though, that would definitely be a good way to piss early adopters off.
True, @Gavinski, but ultimately over 95% of all apps and IAPs eventually go on some sort of sale — although rarely over 80%-off like this one did, so soon after it was originally released.
Ultimately, I believe when a new app or IAP appears, you have to decide “just how badly do I need this right now, and how much immediate joy will it bring me before it eventually goes on sale?”
For some, it is totally worth the immediate satisfaction and application of said product. I totally applaud them!
Personally, I’m pretty patient. I love Nembrini amps, for example, and purchased them immediately at their introductory discount price. When they released the Cali Dual Three Channel at full price, I was more than happy to wait for the holiday sale on it this week. The same goes for the Overloud TH-U apps. They had a slight sale, but nothing close to the sales they offer on their desktop products. Despite the innumerable awesome reviews I’ve seen over the months, I’m content to wait for the discount — whether it’s tomorrow or next July. I have more amp simulators that I could possibly ever need, so I have plenty of options to keep me busy while I wait.
Hey, thanks to everyone who chimed in about my question. I had got it sorted out in another thread where I had asked the same question.
Before posting my inquiry, I didn’t realize I would have had to buy the full unlock before getting the sax.
I had got Play free on Black Friday and was trying to get the sax while it was on sale now, storing it away, and later buying the full Pro app at a better time for my wallet.
The full pro app is now on sale, and as @MLohmeyer pointed out, I also believe it is always wiser to buy the full/Pro standalone app as opposed to upgrading a lite version if available.
The only time this has failed me was with ibird ultimate, although to their credit, they did later give us a workaround.

You don’t need the pro version to use swam instruments. I just have Play and the sax works fine.
Is anybody having difficulty buying the sax iap?
I usually just get a "waiting" message, but twice I went through the purchase process then got a message saying "you have already purchased that app, it will be restored". But it's not available in Geoshred even when I "restore purchases". I've rebooted my iPad, tried a dozen times, no luck.
Has anybody successfully gotten the sax iap on sale?

Took me 3 tries, but eventually worked (with no need to reboot, I just closed the app and tried again).
Thanks for the reply. I tried about twenty times, finally uninstalled Geoshred, then reinstalled, restored purchases, and it worked.

That’s right. But be aware of this if you’re thinking about upgrading to the Pro version in the future. From moforte’s FAQs:
“Can I use the GeoSWAM instruments I purchased for GeoShred Pro with my copy of GeoShred Play?
No, each version of GeoShred (Pro, Play, Control) has it's own IAPs. Also note that you should not have more than one GeoShred on your device because they all share the same AUv3 App ID and this will cause confusion for hosts. They share the same App ID to facilitate migration of projects.”
