Great to hear from everyone.
I haunt PianoWorld. If it is indicative of other fora out there (I don’t facefuck or tweet) ... well, it’s kind of creepy, in a word. I mean, there’s this great love of the inanimate... pianos... I mean... but the acoustics look down on the digital guys and the high end dp guys look down on the VST guys and the VST guys look down on the iOS guys... and I look down on all of them (not really...but maybe) cause no one can crack a decent joke.
But, humor and pretension aside, there is no comraderie in that virtual place. No one shares any real feelings... and everyone has remained utterly silent about the silent night. I mean wtf? Maybe people are so beaten down by the various blights... but still... I haven’t read a single hohoho or greeting of good cheer amongst even the friendly competitors. Actually, my favorite part is the Piano Technicians Corner... knowing tuners as I do, they can be a bit strange... but they do get passionate about gluing tuning pins and worn out whippets... oops... spellcheck strikes... “whippens”
I thought of posting my displeasure with their Scroogities ... which, in days of yore, would have given me some arrogant satisfaction, but trading bitsy barbs, except with my pal @McBarbie, has lost its flavor even here. I can say, reflecting on stuff like that, that ABF has made me a bit better human.
All of which is to say that, I imagine, when it comes to music and music making (fraught with danger, as always) this is a rare atmosphere. Gratitude! (And send in the hos). LL

Saw this posted here before and always wondered how it works... did he set up the oscilloscope so that the x axis is transformed into "distance from the center" and the y axis is the angle? And the imagery is created by the music? Or is it just a cool "demo" that is run independent of the music?

Well, @robosardine, most people, if they have jobs, are off... that’s called a holiday, I believe. Also, there’s Channukah and Kwanzaa, and New Year’s. Those are all holidays, I believe. But for you, I guess, no happy holidays are in order.
Aha- in the US we call it vacation, not holiday, so there is no confusion. So I hope that when you are on holiday it is happy, but today I’m wishing you Merry Christmas and you’ll like it.
Oh, and I agree 100% about the exhaust pipes...
