MixBox in GarageBand
So is anyone else having issues with MixBox from IK Multimedia? Several of the presets when used on the GarageBand instruments will kill the audio in my project and I have to restart the app.
iOS 14.2 on an Air3

I wonder if those presets may be expecting something GB does not support, sidechaining maybe?
Can you start with an empty MixBox rack and add the components of a preset in sequence, to see which component triggers the error?
Some internal instruments have issues with some AU. For example bass or guitar don’t use master sample rate but something like 22050 kHz, and some AU (like 4Pockets Multitrack) will crash audio engine at those rates. Workaround is to merge/render before using AU. You could check that.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will give both a try!!!
When a developer says they support an OS version, it's only reasonable for them to expect you to be on the latest "point" version within that OS version. Every major OS version (11, 12, 13, 14, etc) have bugs that get fixed in the "point versions" (14.1 14.2, 14.3, etc.). They can't be expected to support any but the latest "point" version within a major version.
Whey they told you that the issue was probably because of your non-updated iOS version, they were saying that they think it may help to go from 14.2 to 14.3. That is an answer. If you're not willing to follow their advice, then why should they go further? Why would they spend any time trying to reproduce and debug an issue for a point release that's been superseded? If you update, and the problem persists, then they ignore you, you have grounds to complain.
Any reason why you would not want to go from 14.2 to 14.3? From what I've read some (not all) of the crappy 14.x bugs have been fixed in 14.3. GarageBand may have been updated too? I didn't check.
P.S. I don't know when you reported it, but it is Christmas weekend. I know we all expect developers never take a day off and have nothing better to do than customer support 24x7, but 'cmon.
The other thread was closed because the intention of the OP was to encourage bad feelings towards a developer. Many of us have had good experience with iK support.
You may have it follow up sometimes if your message doesn’t get answered. And, as @wim said, you can’t expect a developer to support all point releases of all OS releases. In the case of iOS 14. 14.2 and earlier have some serious bugs some of which have been fixed in 14.3.
Be aware, that all support organizations are under-staffed and people providing support tend to get a lot of flack from frustrated users for problems that the support person has no control over. Support people have no control over what features are implemented or what bugs are fixed.
Today’s update has fixed my issues!!!
