Blazing Solstice (Continua, Rock Drum Machine, Nembrini 8180, wooden flute)
Last week had been a difficult time creatively. I tried and ditched several ideas, but towards the end of it I barely managed to get something going, a generative pattern of a Continua patch using 4 notes and the mutate function in Launchpad Pro MKiii. Then I had a headache and couldn't work at all at the song and on Sunday I thought I should make it really rock since it marks getting over many hesitations and pullbacks.
I grabbed my electric guitar and recorded rhythms and melodies (both clean and distorted) with Nembrini's 8180, drums coming from the excellent Rock Drum Machine by Lumbeat (hit the random pads a couple of times untill it gave me some rhythms I liked, then switched between them as the song was playing).
At the end I played a wooden flute to bring a different sound and make it as a call to nature...which fitted the fact that the next day was solstice.

Besides you struggling with it and headaches (hope you're better)... This turned up awesome.
Yes, it only happened the day before the deadline, as it usually happens ) (I set up myself a deadline to finish a track a week). Thanks for listening!
Finishing it before deadline. I appreciate your effort even more now
Sorry to hear about the headache. I suffer from migraines and wish it on no one.
This track was VERY good. It was like a mix between God is an Astronaut and the Tenet soundtrack.
I think the drums worked 90% of the time - some parts seemed a bit odd though. I like the sound of the flute but may have been a bit too busy at the end.
Overall this was a great track and I love the tone of the guitar you are getting. The ostinato is a great foundation.
Thanks for the feedback, it's an amazing compliment to say about God is an Astronaut as I like them a lot! You're also right about the drums and flute, maybe another "pass" would have benefited but I was quite in a rush to finish it.
Nembrini's stuff is finally a plug&play amp for me, no more "uhhh, I kinda want that amp or is it that other one, but then let me choose between 100 IRs and so on". I made some presets in no time that simply sound good with just little tweaking to fit the mix.
