USB C/iPad Pro 2020 Connectivity Haaalp!
So, good people of the forum.
iPad Pro 2020> Steinberg UR 22C.
Connected as such: Steinberg> USB hub>iPad Pro.
The iPad is charging but the audio interface continues to flash indicating that the interface is not recognizing the iPad.
I have the UR 44 so I know this behavior. (Setting this up for a friend)
After you you connect and enter your passcode the interface stops flashing and iPad responds.
Not the case here.
I’m sure we’re missing something simple.
Anybody own this gear?
Thanks in advance.

Doug @soundtestroom don’t you have one of these?
Try a powered hub maybe? Did that interface work with your last iPad? I read Steinburgs information and says iPad with USB C should be able to power it. You better contact Steinburg on the issue. Maybe try powering it with the other power option and send data over the cables.
@Ben can you plug it in directly to the iPad without the hub? If so, then it's something with your hub alignment. If not, you have a bigger issue related to the interface.
I'm assuming you have the USB hub connected to iPad as the main connection and the UR22c is connected to one of the USBC peripheral ports of the hub?
@DMan. Yes it is a powered hub. This setup is for a friend. All new gear.
I have the 2018 iPad Pro and the Steinberg UR 44.
@arktek. I’m pretty sure that is how we had it set up but I’m home now and of course I’m second guessing.
@Ben
I have the steinberg UR22c on my ipad pro 2020 and had a similar issue.
Fixed by powering the hub through usb C and connect a usb 3 cable from hub to UR22c, switch the interface to USB 3 and not USB C. If still flashing, lock the ipad and unlock it.
Keep me posted please.
@Bob. Thanks. I’m trying to do this by sharing screenshots back-and-forth with my friend from his house. He has limited knowledge so we’re mudding through it.
I’ll let you know how it works out.
@Bob: This is the issue we’re having. That crazy main connector on the USB hub.Need USB C to whatever that is.
