guitar riff writing app
is there an app for iphone I could use to write guitar riffs when i’m physically can’t hold a guitar?
i don’t really care how it sounds, it’s just a means to write down and save riffs that pop in my head throughout the day. i’d love to have a fretboard interface that i can set to my guitars tuning, and sequence chords and notes. so i can write riffs on the go.
any ideas?

Jam Maestro? https://appsliced.co/app?n=jam-maestro&l=list
oh yeah that looks perfect. do i need the full or lite version?
I would guess at the full version. I have had it for years, keep reminding myself to use it more, keep forgetting. However, I didn't even know there was a lite version. Reading on the description for the lite version this stuck out to me:
"In LITE version: Sequence 1x Guitar and 1x Drums in guitar tab/drum tab format, to a max of 4 bars. No save/open ability."
That make it sound quite limited (to me at least).
So basically without a save/open feature it's a very limited, barely usable demo, yet you're supposed to pay for it...?!
If you're fine with just midi and not tabs, you might also use any of the midi keyboards that have a multi-row layout and record into a daw.
The "real deal" guitarpro also exists as an iOS app but jam maestro seems to have the better features. I'd also like to have such an app because I'm always too lazy to actually write down my guitar parts, so a week after I finished a song the tabs are forever lost from my memory
But not sure if I'm willing to spend 10 bucks for that...
i bought the full version. this is excellent. exactly what i was needing. this is going to change my workflow so much. thanks you so much for suggesting it. i really do appreciate it! this is why i love this audiobus community. !
