AUM....3 questions

Hi festive friends...
1. How to record sync quantum ..I have set to one bar..I want it to stop recording after 1 bar...but it doesn’t just stop to make an exact one bar recording.
2. How to delete loads of files at once..select all....but still need to minus delete each file separately!?
3. I want to record all tracks...but only want one audio file...not individual recordings for each...settings somewhere?

Help greatly appreciated
Thanks

What the sync quantum does is end the recording on a quantum boundary AFTER you tell it to stop recording. So, if you want to record only one bar, start recording by pressing record. Then press record again any time before the measure is over. AUM will delay stopping the recording until the sync quantum is reached.

I think you can get what you want recording wise by using the mix busses. Setup a new track with a mix bus as input and then direct either the outputs of the tracks you want to record or an effect insert mix bus to that recording bus. Then record on the bus.

Edit: Wanted to add that this is the way I use AUM all the time for live stuff too. It gives you an easy way to add global effects.

  • Thanks guys....a bit cumbersome is AUM.....
But you do get to do split keyboards..wish this was easier visually too.
It’s just as easy recording loops in Cubasis though......
