GeoShred SWAM Saxophone Demo - Auld Lang Syne

Finally got a chance to mess around with GeoShred and the amazing SWAM Sax.
Here's an Auld Lang Syne jam.
(As a guitarist using GeoShred on an iPhone held like a guitar is the way to go - just too much fun!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • That's so cool... I gotta' try GeoShred on my phone upside down and see if my
    guitar instincts kick in.

  • Thanks @McD - make sure to turn on the 'Auto' octave switch. It sounds really cool to repeatedly play a phrase or arpeggio, up (or down) the octaves - until you run out of notes and get stuck!

"Auto" octave seems random... I like to drive and not be driven.

I tried the iPhone upside down. I didn't get that stringed instrument feeling to kick in due to the lack of haptic and texture feedback of real strings. I'm much more capable with 2 fingers of each hand on the normal interface. I'm sure practice might pay off but I see practicing on the 2 finger approach might get me further. @flo26's videos serve to indicate there's a lot there on the multi-handed approach and he's a master of the fretboard.

But your facility is impressive but it looks painful to hold the phone that way for very long.

  • Yeah, I love how you're playing it like a real instrument. I wish I could do that. It just needs a guitar strap to complete the effect! Good playing and Happy New Year to you, too.

  • Thanks @LinearLineman - a guitar strap or perhaps one of those selfie-sticks might do the job. I definitely want to try this live, if I ever get a gig again!
