Voice commands to MIDI instructions

Is there a way of picking up a voice command through the iPad microphone and converting it to MIDI instructions e.g. Have GeoShred open in AUM and for example say the word ‘On’ and something fire midi at GeoShred to switch Harmonics on. GeoShred allows midi in / mapping to all the controls. This would allow all fingers to be playing and to control effects etc at the same time. Apologies if this has been covered previously, have searched but can’t find this specific scenario. Thanks.

In settings, accessibility, voice control, custom commands you can assign voice commands to gestures for individual apps. I use this in conjunction with Touch osc to send all sorts off midi to Ableton from iPad with voice commands. Some limitations are that you have to decide which orientation to use and you have to stick with that, and it’s not easy to switch screens within an app, single taps work best. But it’s worth checking out just for hands free transport!

  • Wow thanks @tput73 , other than a slight lag it works tremendously well. Very impressed.
