Bleass Granulizer Walkthrough Video

Bleass Granulizer is a really enjoyable and intuitive universal (iPad/iPhone) granular FX app for iOS, and this is a detailed walkthrough teaching you all you need to know about the app. It has an extremely cool multi-buss feature which allows you to mix together at random short snippets of audio from up to 4 different audio sources, and in this video tutorial I show how to set this up. Scale options allow for very musical granulation. With this you can basically pulverize something into granular mayhem, or come up with lovely harmonic arp- and chord-like effects. As always with Bleass apps, it has some great presets - which I demo on drums as well as melodic content - and a fantastically thought-through interface.

  • Cool. I’m already curious.

  • @rud As a big Spacecraft fan, you should be!

  • Looking forward to this one...!

  • Yes!!! This should be fun!!!

  • Granular effects are what got me into iOS music making so consider me very interested indeed

  • That’s tomorrow isn’t it? I’m so confused after both Christmas and an intense week at work...

(The above meme may not mean much to those outside the UK)

  • Tomorrow yes 😂

  • What a coincidence in time. This app, in combination with Radio AU, can do everything shown in this video with ease. No telling what will be possible with a few instances of Spacecraft's new live granular feature or any other kind of generative midi. This potentially spectacular launch into 2021 gives hope for lots of exciting things to come.

Ok great idea how achieved in AUM?
Tried in perforator with differing results

  • Pretty cool, but he’s just gating samples. There’s no real need for a radio unless you really want the aleatoric aspect.

  • This is just an example and inspiration, no need to implement radio as a source. You can use the Bleass Granulizer to gate and granulate whatever your heart desires. 😊

  • Now that Spacecraft has live input, I will need some convincing to buy this one. But probably not much convincing.

They are different enough to want both! > @Polyphonix said:

Indeed (Chris? That avatar looks familiar!) I use Radio Units in the vid to show off the multi buss feature.

  • Not soon enough! Just kidding, I’ll be there or after

  • I'm hoping that the Motion EQ and Granulizer coming right after each other is setting the tone for a year of more experimental fx from Bleass.

  • Same, Bleass is kicking ass lately

  • Great guys, looking forward to seeing you there.

Will be out before the live?

Yes, it’s me. 🙋🏻‍♂️ Ha, we had the same thought there, this two apps really want to groove together. Looking forward to your video.

  • Out in the UK now just in time for Gavs video great.😀

Well you can definitely get some crazy results with this. It’s probably Bleass most leftfield app yet. Just fired it up and pushed some Radio AU into it. Bingo a new tune we had going on there!

  • Definitely their most leftfield so far by a long way - I really hope they continue in this direction, as this is a lot more exciting to me than chorus, flangers and compressors, no matter how good those are.Premiere starts in 10 mins 🍿🍿🍿

I'm really surprised they don't have a phaser actually. Considering their current lineup, I wouldn't be surprised to see one later this year though. After that, I'd also like to see them continue down this path of more experimental apps. I bet they'd make an awesome resonator.

  • You should suggest to them that they make a resonanator @aleyas - hell, why not go the whole hog and just make a physical modeling synth lol

I would LOVE to see a Bleass physical modeling synth... It'd be top quality coming from Bleass.

Also great video as always Gav, watching it now since it was 5am my time when the premiere happened and I was still asleep lol

  • Heres a quick play of granulizer also

  • It does sound really good and I like the visualisation :) Not sure if it's doing anything different or better than Spacecraft though which seems more playable live so that's my go-to for now.

  • It is significantly different from Spacecraft - for starters it doesn’t have a sequencer, but you create melodies more through playing with the tuning settings, but there are lots of differences, these apps are both well worth having.
