I don’t recommend this app on iPad, but I do recommend it as a desktop replacement for Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Photo on desktop is a very competitive alternative to Adobe Photoshop. On iPad there are just too many subtleties these apps cannot capture in order to be productive.
I have no issues with either of the Affinity apps on my iPad Pro. But I do use them with a Magic Trackpad, Pencil 2, BT Keyboard combo, and that brings the overall experience closer to the desktop versions. But I'm not a full-time professional graphic designer so I probably put up with a few rough edges with the UX.
As someone who worked with both Adobe apps for decades, the iOS experience with both Adobe and Affinity are highly compromised. I will say that Adobe software is still unparalleled in their performance and ease of use, so they are worth renting for short term projects, but I now "own" Affinity for day to day stuff.
I'd thoroughly recommend them on iPad! There is a bit of interface relearning to do but it's worth it.
Haven't used the suite too much on iOS, but I also highly recommend the desktop versions as a cheaper and less annoying replacement for Adobe.
@BCKeys Thank you!

ArtStudio Pro is 1/2 off at $7.99

Nevertheless, I have to fair and say that I'm still liking many many of these presets ! This synths are incredible values for the money and the presets are a very good way to understand what's under the hood ! 👍🏻
I have everything of Bram’s bar Phasemaker which I’ve always held off on for some reason. Can anyone vouch for it?
Phasemaker's great for Yamaha DX tones and is low CPU and reliable. It's my go-to for testing new FX AUs, since FM cuts through really well. It has a mutator (under Utility) which is like an intelligent randomizer with 'randomization-amount' knobs for envelopes, ratios, and character. So no need to have Brian Eno's knowledge of FM synthesis.
I'm hoping for an Amazing Noises and apeSoft sale. Today's the day, according to AppSliced's history.
I’ve always had a hard time grokking FM synthesis, but it sounds pretty good to me. It’s definitely less complicated than NFM, which is the most direct thing I can compare it to. The inevitable rabbit hole of operators modulating operators always seems too mathy to wrap my head around.
Been waiting for a sale on Troublemaker, myself.
I just registered to say thanks to @Poppadocrock and the other contributors to this thread. I’m pretty new to iOS music production but you have introduced me to some exciting tools at nice prices.
So far I have picked up some Nembrini apps and most of their rack FX. I’m very pleased with the tones I am getting from these.
I also snagged Virsyn’s Cube Synth Pro and it’s a jaw-droppingly good synth. The randomiser churns out oodles of fertile ground for sonic exploration, and I’ve coaxed some truly unique sounds from it after a few hours of exploration. Very satisfying.
Keeping my eye out for a deal on the Fabfilter creative bundle and Yonak’s Roxsyn guitar synth.
Welcome to the forum, @stim!
Yeah, @Poppadocrock is the king of finding iOS deals! 🤗
I saw that the Overloud TH-U desktop app is on sale, but I can’t remember what the iOS IAPs are usually listed at.
Can anyone confirm whether they’re on sale yet?
I received this last night:
There seems to be more sales on the rigs than listed here…
SDS-x Full Unlock on sale.
Thanks. And welcome. Cheers!

rig packs that were ~$18 are now $13, and ~$27 rigs are now $20.
Ahh bummer.. I was hoping to see a sub-$100 (Canadian$) TH-U premium, but if all the IAPs are already discounted then I'm out of luck for this year
@Millwardesque, instead of purchasing the TH-U premium, you should seriously consider one or more of the rigs — that are on sale.
A number of forum members bought the premium and were happy, but they later purchased a number of rigs and found those to be even better than the premium option.

Moog sale
Model 15

If you know what kinds of tones/styles you are interested in, post them here and I can guarantee a number of forum members will have rig options that will meet your needs.
Are the Moog IAPs also on sale, @Poppadocrock?
Oh, never mind @Poppadocrock.
I searched my AppStore purchased list and discovered I received Model 15 for free last year.
The very least I can do is purchase the rest of the few remaining IAPs! 😇
