Import Cubasis 2 Project to Cubasis 3

I am not able to import a Cubasis2 project to Cubasis 3. Has anyone sorted this out please. I have upgraded to Cubasis 3 today and this is still not working. I have tried the work around with Audioshare and that doesn't work whether you zip or unzip the files. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

    Same here.

I still have many projects in CB2, I cannot migrate to CB3 without efforts.
Often the migrated wave-files are empty or effect-presets are lost.
I have to check every single track - that’s annoying.

    Steinberg has changed some directorynames.
    I.e. Cubase/Audio/User now Cubases3/Audio/My Audio Files
    I.e. Cubase/Effects/NoLimits/User now Cubase3/Effects/NoLimits/My Presets
    I.e. Cubase/Midi/User now Cubases3/Midi/My Midi Files

My guess is, that these links are broken or do not match amongst other things.

It would be nice to have a working migration-script.

  • Thanks for answering. I am very surprised that this hasn't been addressed by Steinberg or Apple. I have spoken with various people that are still on iOS13* and they are not having problems. I am on 14.3 and have also had trouble with my Positive Grid Bias FX 2 before they issued an update. Yet Bias FX 1 was still working OK. Same with Cubasis 2 it works fine. But we still have these problems with Cubasis 3. I've actually taken it off my iPad now and received a refund from Apple with no questions asked so I would say they've had a lot of complaints. I won't be installing it again till they get it right. I noticed the My Files was new as well and yes I suspect that you are correct in the file paths. Also the Global trash doesn't work either. I had to delete individual empty projects manually instead of like version 2 where it empties the whole thing. To be honest in v3 I can only see the mixer pan numbers have been added and global tracks. Other than that it is a complete cut down of version 2 with washed out graphics and thinner font text. I believe this is to accommodate for the lack of RAM on iPhones and Android devices. Again thanks for your input but I'm putting this one to bed after 2 days of messing about it's just not worth it I'll stick with v2.

I fully agree with the ugly icons and inferior fonts that are not easy on the eyes. The fonts and icons in new v3 should look better than v2 but unfortunately, they don’t. I mentioned them in my bug list on Steinberg forum too - items 123, 124, 126, 127.

    https://forums.steinberg.net/t/make-producing-music-easier-100-issues-suggestions/156430

Icons in v2 were perfect and there was no need to change them. I suggested to bring back those icons.

As for fonts, I suggested to use contemporary, condensed fonts to pack more text in limited space like FL Studio. Such contemporary fonts also exist in AudioKit’s Digital D1 (and Synth One) and they are thick enough to be EASY on the eyes and so PERFECT!

Where available space is not an issue, squared/wide fonts like those used in House: Mark 1 are still super cool and contemporary. Steinberg could use a combination of condensed and squared/wide fonts in Cubasis for a variety appeal. I would use the squared/wide fonts for headings/titles and condensed fonts for list/detail data -

Going by issues resolved in 3.2 recently, at least we know they are looking into the list and did resolve a couple of them from the list like track heights, persisting zoom factor in Piano Roll and Automation editors, we can only hope they would address the icons and fonts issues -

@LFS , AudioKit apps are open source - we can look at the code to see which fonts are used and use those same fonts in Cubasis. The suggested fonts (along with v2 icons) would make Cubasis look - futuristic!
