OT: Seeking Video Artists

edited January 2021 in Other

Some of you may have seen my post for Pictures At A Planetarium, or even heard some of it. I’ve gotten enough positive feedback to convince me it is reasonably good. So, when it was suggested to me that a YouTube video with imagery might be a really good endeavor, I gave it some thought.

I would like to explore what that might take, here, if possible. I’ve seen some really good video work from members and would welcome the possibilities. Also, perhaps you can guide me to other fora where I might find interested artists.

The entire piece is over 40:00, so, unless someone is really motivated, I would be up for folks doing individual tracks, of which there are 10. I’ll repost here and welcome any suggestions you might have. Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

  • What kind of video are you thinking? Any restrictions or prompts?

In a collaboration I usually want the other artist to have as much freedom as possible. I imagine I would, however, want the imagery related to space. It would be the artist’s visual statement, not mine.

  • The linked thoughts I’ve had so far have been quite abstract, gas giant patterns, I love those images of the poles of Saturn that show strange hexagonal vortices...

    Ah, @Krupa

  • I do things like construct weird videos for strange audiomaterial, videomanipulation is always via Desktop (VDMX on a Mac), though. VDMX is a great software, and easily learned (if you are interested in doing that stuff yourself).
My videos are on youtube, and also on vimeo under the nomdeguerre: animalaleman, and I usually do veeery long outtakes privately, thus 40 minutes wouldn‘t be an issue...
Let me know if you‘re interested, I love that stuff and willing to do it for the heck of it.
    Cheers, t

  • Thanks @animal, I will check it out.
