  • Decorating my folder after my first jam when I purchased it. But that's just because i'm not doing much music lately
But I'm trying to juggle my free time and will use it on a rock-ish downtempo thingie

That's what I would expect from you

  • I’ve added it to a track in currently working on. No wubz, just a lovely smooth, present sub bass

  • it resembles Cyclop. Just trying to find Perfect place Between other tracks

  • I like it
    Had a few crashes thou
Am sure it will fit in to some of my tracks soon
Home schooling taking up all free time at the moment

    I hear ya~

  • I quite like the sou d of this app but i’ struggling with Midi values jump. I’m sending Midi from an Octatrack and Agonizer goes full volume each time i press stop and play again or change a pattern.

  • Anyone getting anything funky out of it? I’ve been holding off on it cos I just assumed it was all wobble bass but I could see that getting funky with the right settings

  • I have three synths by this dev, including Agonizer and Volt. Shockwave is still my favorite.

I did a track in Jamuary using Agonizer for all synth parts with Drambo as host. It was a lot of fun, hadn't used it much since I bought it. So it was a good exercise.

It was part of my Synth of the Day Series, where I used a different iOS synth (almost) every day in January.

Shockwave is in a class of its own. The AU UI gets a little funky on my iPhone but the sounds are fantastic.

  • Nothing. I'm sure I bought it to support Jakob but since then I've not really found much use for it. Eventually I'll be inspired by some video I watch and be glad I have it to play along with that particular YouTube producer. In the meantime IOS has decided I don't use it enough and has automatically uninstalled it.

Couldn’t have said it any better, haha.
It’s weird. I’ve started going back to default sounds, and presets because I worry less about optimizing performance.
Agonizer is a specialist synth for me. It’s not very often I’ll need a wub synth or unique bass lines, but I have it as a handy tool to refer to. What I tend to do when I get a new synth is go through all the presets, and favorite sounds I’ll end up using.

While I do sometimes feel inspired to craft a synth sound, most times, I have a sound in mind and just want to quickly access a tool to get that sound. Right now, for crafting new synths, Drambo seems to want to take away the slot.

So, to summarize, I don’t use Agonizer that often. I’m a fan of Jakobhaq and Kai Aras that it was worth it to support them. That said, it is a specialized tool that I’ll refer to when I want to craft more intricate bass lines than I can get from my presets, or favorite samples.

Edit: Here are my current specialist AUv3 apps for bass
    1. Bass 808 - Standard 808 sounds
    2. Agonizer - EDM and creative bass sounds
    3. Digitalism - Simple, pop sounds

I actually use other bass from Reason Compact, and from Garageband stock sounds as my regular bass.

  • I have an issue with Agonizer: it is supposed to get CC’s only from midi channel 10 but is taking cc’s from other channels. Anyone has had the same problem?

  • I tried Shockwave from the same editor, nice sounds and UI but same issues with Midi.
Such a shame to developp beautiful apps with such bad implementation of Midi...

Gonna look for yet another bass synth...

Have you tried turning off MPE?

Anyone else had certain notes not triggering , mostly if coming back down from a note above (legato?) a few nice sounds but a few crashes too. (Happening with Nanokey studio and aum keyboard) Edit: I’m guessing there’s a setting I’ve missed, it’s letting me hold a note, press any below it they will sound but none above ?

  • i ♥ Agoniser - it lets my fingers scream (whilst i safely breathe)

There's a note priority option on the settings page, setting that to "Last Note" should get you the behaviour you're looking for.
