Lumbeat power usage

Opened Lumbeat Soft Drummer last night to check what IAP there are. Woke up 7 hours later to a dead iPad. It has used 30% battery power with background services. I'm unable to find a way to turn it off but this makes me think perhaps these drum apps need to be shut down and had a feature to disable background services?

  • @Ailerom I have had a nightmare this last fortnight with the same issues.
This thread - https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/36818/lumbeat-app-issues talks about the same thing and I have had advice from AB members to a) open Soft Drummer first before opening a DAW and b) perform a hard reset every time I use the Lumbeat apps. I emailed Lumbeat but no response although there has been an update yesterday. Hopefully this might solve it...

  • As a minimum, you should always force-quit (double-tap Home, swipe app off top of screen) music apps when not in use. And sometimes a power-cycle (power off/on) may be required, as already suggested.

  • Good to know. Every other i device user has told me it is better to leave apps running as it takes more battery power to start them again. Non musicians though. And not sure where they collectively got the same information.

For this to work reliably, one needs to launch the app by hand. When apps have been host-launched it may not.

This is only true for apps that don't use resources when in the background as some audio apps do.

This does happen sometimes , especially if you load apps via Audiobus and aum , app does not shut even if session is closed , have to open app again in standalone and shut again
    Strangely happens more on iPad

To avoid , I always check “battery” app in settings
