iOS 14 experiences
Hi,
Since updating my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 to ios14.3 midi connectivity when using a powered hub has just died.
I was originally using an ADDON usb powered hub (3x usb3 + 4x usb2)
And just bought an RSHTECH powered hub (4x usb3 + 3x usb2 - all switched) to try.
Nothing is showing as connected.
Without the hub (just CCK) I can get input from my NDLR but not my KEYSTEP32 and intermittent connections to my MPKmini.
With the hub, nothing.
Can anyone suggest anything or can other please share their experience. Thanks
(My advise is if you are on 13 using a powered hub, don’t update yet)

Apologies if you already tried a hard reboot, but it can't hurt if you didn't. Volume up, then volume down, then hold the power button until the Apple logo appears.
personally I'm on 14.3 and don't have any issues while having an audio interface + 2 midi keyboards connected to a powered hub. I connect everything to the powered hub and connect the hub to the CCK, connect the ipad's usb charger to the CCK, then turn on the hub, then, as the last step, connect the CCK to the ipad. since i began following this order I no longer have any issues.
In the past I also often had problems with my MPK mini not being recognized by apps. I have the mk3 which for me definitely doesn't work without a powered hub. I think it might be important that your usb devices already had a chance to power up before you connect them to the ipad.
@dobbs I can reinforce your remarks. I always power up the hub, with all the gear connected, and connect power to the CCK. The last step is connecting the CCK to the iPad. This way, the iPad sees everything when it tries to enumerate the connected devices. Never had a problem with this order, though I have had trouble with other orders (keyboards not seen, etc.). I'm currently using iPad 6 with iPadOS 14.3, but this has been the same for other devices and older iOS versions.
Please never apologise for providing PICNIC support!
Looks like the hard reset has cured the midi connections.
A faulty lightening cable (cheap - powering CCK)
and a faulty CCK (el cheapo copy, now binned) were also in the mix
but the hard reset fixed the midi connection problems and I could start adding other hardware from there.
Thanks for the help folks, the iPad survives to live another day!
