Cubasis 3.2.1 Version History
CBT-2227 Resolves a problem, where events can move on their own in complex projects.
CBT-734 Events being moved no longer disappear behind other events.
CBT-2343 Cycle button no longer stops working after mixdown to separate tracks.
CBT-2315 Importing a MIDI mixdown from Cubasis into Cubase or another app, no longer leads to wrong signatures.
CBT-2259 Fixes a rare issue, where the empty trash button was greyed out.
Nice!
As an owner of an ancient iPad Air 2 I've just come to the conclusion that it's best to leave the Audio Engine Latency turned OFF to avoid crackle-town even though all the 3 cores iPad Air 2 run at the same speed.
I've experienced the CBT-2259 and I'm happy my trash is working as expected again.
Happy to see CBT-2343 fixed as well
Cheers!
Thanks @Samu!
Have not been using Cubasis for a while, now with version 3, I am unable to record any midi from midi plugins inside Cubasis.
I can do this now in GB and I could do it in Cubasis 2.
Has Cubasis been downgraded so that midi can no longer be recorded?
(Also it is a PAIN to use with AUM due to constant crashes and issues with sending audio besides many other issues. When you re-write something from the ground up, why not make it better? Just wondering.)
@LFS :Hey Lars: Will we ever be able to mix tine signatures in Cubasis? Not all of us compose in a constant 4/4 time.
Hi @neinneinnein,
Please double check to make use of the Rec To Track / MIDI Thru buttons in the effect rack.
To learn more about the buttons, please have a look at the MIDI effects chapter of the Cubasis help.
Does this help to solve the problem?
Thanks
Lars
Hi @Telstar5,
Thanks for your message.
The feature requests remains on our list for future updates.
However, it is not expected to be included short- or mid-term, unfortunately.
Sorry!
Best wishes
& stay safe,
Lars

@LFS : Unfortunately for me Cubasis 3 is a deeply disappointing update - apart from the general instability that plagues the app (Cubasis 2 seemed more stable) there seems to be something very wrong with the midi import in C3. Please can you ask your team to look at this as it makes the application effectively unusable for me. The attached image shows what a mess Cubasis 3 makes of importing a simple midi file - Ableton and Reason import the same file properly.
C3.21 IoS14.3 IpadAir3.
@sambo Can you share the midi-file you're trying to import?
This behavior could be related to program-change messages.
ie. when Cubasis detects a program-change it creates a new track.
Both Ableton and Reason seem to ignore program-changes and only use midi channel when splitting the file to new tracks?!
I can check with LogicPro, it has multiple import options...
@LFS may correct me if I'm wrong but from my experience program-change messages create new tracks in Cubasis when importing a midi-file. If a midi-channel contains multiple program changes per track each program-change creates a new track.
If the Midi-File contains MPE data it could get 'interesting'...
@LFS Noticed that Cubasis 3.2.1 (On My iPad Air 2, iPadOS14.4) new projects default to using 48K@16-Bits instead of the previous 44.1K@16Bit.
Would it be too much to ask if we could globally set these defaults (Sample Rate & Bit Depth) for new projects?
And also if possible 'remove' the dependency of hardware sample-rate without having to hook up an external audio-interface.
(Roland managed to do this with ZenBeats so it IS doable, at least optionally).
If that's too much to ask, give us an option to set the sample-rate / bit-depth when we create a new project, two pop-ups under the project name should do it...
...It's super annoying to start recording only to realize the bit-depth and sample-rate were incorrectly set...
Cheers!
Hi @sambo,
Thanks for your message.
The MIDI file imports fine with Cubasis 2 and Cubasis 3, resulting in two tracks.
Please make sure to create a new project, before importing the MIDI file.
Please provide us with more details and step descriptions to allow us reproducing your issue(s).
Thanks!
Best wishes,
Lars
Hi @Samu,
Good catch and suggestions -
Thanks and shared with the team!
Stay well,
Lars
@LFS Please address the sorting issue in the media bay in your next update. Last 2 updates did not address this very basic expected behavior and a minor glitch. If the file list is long, it becomes tedious to locate files.
+1 - Cubasis 3 is working so smoothly in my use case that this minor issue seems to be my main gripe with the app at the moment.
@LFS: I have messaged you.
For the record - this issue remains even when I deinstall Cubasis 3.21 and then reinstall it. Also the exact same midi mis-rendering occurs using a fresh install of Cubasis 2.84.
I'm wondering if some old midi program component from an earlier version of Cubasis is acting to corrupt the midi import module. Is there a way to completely remove all the Cubasis program components?
I've obviously tried to remove all versions from my iPad as well as rebooting each time.
It's very frustrating to discover that my copy of Cubasis behaves differently to yours.
@LFS I've tried to replicate the issues @sambo is having with the midi rendering...
...for me the midi-file import works properly (iPad Air 2, iPadOS14.4).
There is nothing 'weird' about the file, two tracks on Midi Channels 2 & 3, one track has a bunch of sustain pedal events.
It really 'irks' me when I can't replicate the issues others are having, maybe I'm just 'lucky'?!
I've imported a bunch of midi files and for me the import is an improvement over the previous Cubasis 2.x versions.
@sambo Can you try to import the attached midi-file and see it also messes things up for you?
(It's a standard GM rendition of the high-score theme from C64 Game Commando. It's not mine but it's 'free').
It's 8 tracks in total...
I can replicate another quite annoying thing and that is that mixer does not remember the width-setting (S,M,XL) between app relaunches.
Hope things will work out...
Hi @sambo,
Thanks for your message.
The provided MIDI file import works as expected with Cubasis 2 and Cubasis 3 on the iPad Pro 12.9" 1st Gen. Same for importing the MIDI file with Cubasis 3 on the iPhone X.
Here you can download all three screen captures (link expires on Feb 5, 2021), making sure you follow the same steps:

Hope that helps!

Add me on.
Hey @LFS . First of all thanks for all your work guys. Cubasis 3 is becoming a better product. I do have a quite "funny" problem thought.
In a simple project with 2 Viking Synths and Eventide Blackhole reverb in master channel loaded, the reverb stays audiable even when turned off. Can you please put in on your list "Bugs to squash". Only restarting Cubasis seems to disable the reverb.
I’m still waiting on choke feature?
I’m still waiting on a good sampler?
I’m still waiting on warp audio?
I’m waiting for Audio quantization ?
Build in key detector
We need more build In features to be Able to manipulate sound And And edit audio
We need an option to keep the files mono cause I don’t like when I freeze/bounce it changes to stereo. Makes no sense
What are the upcoming plans because
Hi @israelite,
Thanks for your message.
Gave it a short check loading Blackhole as a Master Inserts effect, where turning of the effect works as expected.
Are you able to provide me with the exact steps, and/or share the project with me to allow us reproducing the problem?
Thanks,
Lars
