Wow, that's good news Russ. IAA wasn't working well with MTS.
Yes, it was. I haven't played with it yet, but I'll be giving it a run with JamMaestro driving it soon.
Lol, I edited that to wasn't working well with IAA.
Really? I hadn't encountered any problems on that front, although I haven't used it much. What problems were you seeing?
I had apps disconnecting, and some not showing up. The Dev got frustrated with IAA and decided AB would be a better choice.
Thanks Morris. Checking it with JM and AB and it appears that it is just bringing in the mix down from JM...not individual tracks.
Do you have a instance of MTS for each track?
Just started playing with AB and MST. (Not yet with JM) Seems that AB brings audio into MTS, but I haven't figured out how to sequence the AB input using MTS midi send...
Yes, I had separate paths setup in AB2.
I got the same thing. The mixdown in each track. Gonna play with it, and see what happens.
I tried it again with different apps on the IP...Thumbjam and Different Drummer. I used a separate path in AB as well. MTS recorded the mixed audio on the TJ track and nothing on the DD track.
Anyone trying to use MTS midi editor to sequence AB input?
@Russ, I left Dev a message about this.
Thanks Morris!
I haven't tried the midi sequencing yet @Littlewoodg.
While you're talking to the dev, Morris, could you tell him how useful it is to be able to record DAW->DAW via AB?
Will do @PaulB.
@PaulB Dev suggested putting IAA effects apps in Master effects to get same result.
@mgmg4871
Thanks much for your Q&A-ing with the dev on the MTS forum, once again I learned things I didn't know about MTS due to your efforts.
I thought about asking the dev about midi sequencing AB inputs using MTS midi editor, but it seems his plan is audio only for the AB ins...and I feel a bit greedy asking for more features!
@Littlewoodg I have no problem asking. No, only hurts for a brief moment.
@mgmg4871
Lol
I'll get there someday!
Not all AB effects are IAA, for one thing...
Having looked through the MTS forum, I've seen a lot of highly involved workarounds suggested by the dev in order to avoid implementing things that would make things much simpler for the user. Offputting...
I agree, but it think he's very slowly learning that users want what they want.
It's pretty much the only thing keeping me from buying. Very tempted by the time sig and tempo flexibility.
There's a lot I like about MTS mobile. But! Always a but, it seems, in these early days of iOS music. I wish MTS loaded all the IAA synths, the way BM2 does. (And I wish BM2 loaded all the IAA effects...). And I wish I could sequence the AB inputs via MTS midi edit.
Lots of hidden features not in description. Automation, and I love the chord function, just tap a midi note and choose a chord type, and it creates a chord from that root. Also dragging a midi track to a audio track.
Hi mgmg4871,you seem very knowledgeable regarding MTS and it seems to have some very intriguing features so I was wondering if you could tell me how it compares to Cubasis,which is my goto DAW (at the moment)?
@mgmg4871
Definitely lots of hidden features, the app
really rewards time-on-task. The powers of the score editor are my latest favorite set of hidden goodies (triplets for dubstep...)
@jomazz
mgmg5871 is definitely the man to ask-
And I recall Trueyorky was an early adopter as well
@Jomazz I don't know if I should compare MTS with Cubasis. It's basically 2 different workflows. I really like both, MTS does have the advantage of a smaller footprint, and at the present automation. It also has a desktop version if that's important to you. I would say Cubasis is a little more polished as far as GUI. So, I guess I'm no help on comparisons. 2 good daws that I see only getting better.
Thanks mgmg4871, yeah I know it's hard to compare them because of different workflows but for instance is that cool chord function in MTS more functional than the pads in Cubasis? Also does MTS have good drum sounds and auto repeat like BM2 and Nanostudio? Thanks again and I just
Might go for it.
