Decent Bluetooth mouse suggestions?

edited January 2021 in Other

Hey all,

I'm on the lookout for a decent Bluetooth mouse (ipadOS).

I bought this £15 item on eBay (Bluetooth 2.4 + 5GHz). But I've got to say, the lag seems horrid.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08DKFQFJH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_3IreGb5M061FX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Significant delay when moving cursor.

Borrowed friends official Mac mighty mouse thing (Bluetooth), works efficiently.

Would like to buy another but definitely not interested in an official apple mouse (due to price).

I kinda thought that in 2020 £15 would buy a serviceable bt mouse but it seems not in this case.

It's reviews were good though, but yeah..

And suggestions greatful. Thanks all

  • Logitech M535 works well. But not exactly cheap either.

  • Another vote for Logitech mice, I use the MX Master 3, works great and very comfortable.

  • I got my Apple Magic Mouse for about $30 on eBay and it’s worked perfectly for about 5 years now, it’s worth looking there and on Amazon for refurbs.

I prefer my wireless (not Bluetooth) trackball now for the computer, but the Apple mouse is small enough that it’s always in my backpack for when I need it on the go.

I also got a generic Bluetooth mouse from Marshall’s for about $7 and it works fine on Mac and iPad, but it shuts off to conserve power when you don’t touch it for a few minutes, so it’s a little bit of a pain. I use that with my old Mac mini now.

  • +1 for Logitech. I've been happy with the M720 for two years. The quick switch button is very convenient if you want to use it with a computer and your ipad, for example.

  • And another.

Very happy with a Logitech MX Anywhere 2S. It's nimble and accurate and the scroll wheel (also on a few other Logitech mice) is amazing. Not cheap (~€55) but well worth it imho.

I got the super simple and compact Microsoft one. I think it was $20. Works perfect.

    Which model?

  • Logitech Pebble 350, got two of them for my iPads.

Fun OT fact: I was employee #13 at Logitech, and one of my first tasks was to pack and ship the first batch of 51 mice to retailers in the US. I typed the invoices in triplicate on an IBM Selectric typewriter. I had a folding table in the corner of the 12 x 24 office space shared with the founders (one of whom's wife tried to hit on me one day).

I've always had great luck with all Logitech and Microsoft wireless mice. I don't have a Bluetooth mouse from either of them just now though.

  • @wim what a snapshot!

PS I was convinced you were going to say “I’ve always had great luck with all Logitech and Microsoft women”

    If only. :D

I forgot to mention ... my wife was the receptionist and was working in the next room, about 10 feet away. :#
