Audio Share....recording by threshold not just press and record immediately
Hello.
Is there a way for recording to start at certain threshold as in BM3?
And what about record a specific length and then stop recording?
Trying to record an app into Audio Share.
Of course I could just trim the recording after...
Thanks....

Okay I think not...manual says there’s a snap to beat editing function...but can’t see it ....
If you want controlled recordings (ie. record a fixed number of bars) AUM is a better solution as start & stop sync to the tempo.
If transport is running recording will start at the next bar (good when metro is running), and tapping stop when playing the last bar will stop recording at the end of the bar.
If transport is not running recording will start immediately and stop at the end of the bar when tapping stop.
If recording needs to be stopped asap, tap the pause button to immediately stop the recording.
The files will end up in AudioShare.
Sure you can't set a 'fixed' length but you can start & stop based on the set tempo and get properly trimmed files.
As far as I know AudioShare & AUM do not support threshold based start of a recording.
Thanks as usual very helpful Samu....
Tools (top right). Trim and fade. Snap.
@IOSSOS You can also send MIDI cc to AUM to automatically start and stop the record function. I set something up the other day that recorded n bars of audio on a loop, saving a file each time through the loop. I can dig out my instructions later if you want?
For threshold recording start you could try using FAC Envolver. You would send audio to it, and set it up to send a MIDI message when the signal crosses a threshold. Send that MIDI message to Loopy and map it to the record start action.
Is long as it is ok to lose a little audio at the onset.
