  • @tahiche many thanks for the support. Experimentation is at the heart of iVCS3, if you get something you really like remember to save the patch! 🍻👍

  • Forgive me for bumping an old topic..

I’m asking cause I got burned by Zeeon not being that usable as an AU in GarageBand on the iPhone (since you have to hide the keyboard to access the controls)… how is this? I read an older post that made it sound like it wouldn’t work, or that the necessary modules can’t be loaded, or something like that.

Can anybody here let me know for sure ?

It works fine. That other post was from someone that just had trouble locating the AUv3 in the list of plugins. The AUv3 being called vcs3, not ivcs3 was the confusion.

The app comes with both the full synth and additionally individual apps for modules such as the oscillators, filter, and spring reverb. They're fun things to play around with.

But if you're asking about the usability in GarageBand because of the size of the interface on the phone? That's difficult to answer. It depends on your tolerance for scrolling around. It's a big interface, with the emphasis on a realistic UI over compactness. That said, I find I can even use it in portrait mode on my iPhone 7 in AUM. But I have to scroll around all over the place to do it.

Sorry, can't test in GarageBand on the phone. I don't have enough free space to re-install GarageBand.

If you're looking for an interface optimized for an iPhone - you might want to look at another synth.

Appreciate it…my main concern was how the keyboard had to be hidden in Zeeon in order to modify any of the parameters, in addition to not being able to access some of the presets (138 and 139 in the screen shot are inacccessible as I keep hitting the stuff in the background ) I don’t mind scrolling in an app so much as long as I can actually use it! ObXD had a similar problem but not quite as bad!

That said I think I’ll wait until i get an IPad cause I’m thinking about how much of a pain it’ll be with the pins!! Same with Moog 15 and MiRack!

There’s only a few others I’m interested in (Agonizer, Omega, Synclavier, the experimental ApeSoft stuff) and then I’m done (til something new comes out lol). I don’t think any of them have any game breaking gui based calamities like Zeeon did lol at least based on photos and video
