"Cherokee" (Audiobus, Master FX, Auria, GB) fun little demo
Recorded this dry using only a Shure SM58 recorded into Auria through a Focusrite 18i8, warts and all. 3 mono tracks: Modulus 6-string electric bass, Rhodes Mark II suitcase piano, and Hammond C3 organ with Leslie 122 cabinet. 1 stereo track: the drums are simply programmed bebop loop samples from GarageBand. Natural reverb from the room, none added... wanted it to sound analog and raw. Compression added during tracking via Master FX app in the Audiobus "Effects" slot.
Currently mastering a live performance of my fusion trio we recorded last week using Auria. Will post when finished!

Awesome! I never liked the tune, however Sounds great though! As a bassist and keyboard player, I really, really want your gear!
Ha! I hear ya! There's a lot of players who don't like those up-tempo bebop tunes, especially when you call one on a gig and nod at em on the first solo form! "Giant Steps"'gets more nasty looks from horn/guitar players than any other XD
Haha, well I can keep up with pretty much any tune on bass, so I don't mind it in that regards. I don't know, Cherokee in particular just never did anything for me. Giant Steps is great, though I like the melody in Countdown more.
In that case, I'd love to get a bass take from you. It's hard to find people who can adequately swing those!
Oh yeah? I mean, you have a Modulus, I'm sure you can burn pretty fine haha. But sure, I'd love to. What songs are you thinking, one of the Coltrane epics? I've been shedding both Giant Steps and Countdown on keys, but bass is my first instrument; I could brush up on either of em up pretty quickly.
0:51 was like James Brown dancing across your keys. Funky fingers you have. Thanks for sharing.
Ha! True, but it's always far more interesting to have other players involved. PM me your email, or maybe I can dropbox you a tune... maybe something with a Latin section? Spain?!
